One month later...
The past few weeks, I would say I was super insomnic. Even when Yazid promised to stay beside me—and he actually did by the way, I still couldn't sleep. I just layed down on the bed, eyes wide open.
"Yazid, I can't sleep," I faced Yazid whom was steered in his sleep. I knew he needed that sleep. Between his work and I, I didn't know which he couldn't handle better.
He abruptly woke up, rubbing away any traces of sleep on his face.
"Why? Is it the air conditioner? Are you-"
"No! I just can't sleep. I tried to but I can't" I complained. I don't know how, but this seventh month was hard on me. My whole body became heavier than it normally was. The odd thing is that I did not have that much of a big belly.
He sighed and I heard him shuffle on the bed, jumping out of bed and turning on the lights. He looked so out of place and character. That wasn't my Yazid. He looked dead. Literally.
He didn't even attend his gym sessions anymore, but he still did look fit. He walked across the room in only his shorts, his well defined toned body shining in the dim lights. He picked up a pair of joggers and wore them over his shorts. "I'll be back"
He opened the door to the room and walked out, leaving me on the bed. I had nothing better to do, so what was better than to follow him downstairs at 1:48 am.
"How is she doing?" I heard as I got to the door to the kitchen.
"She's alright. She say's she can't sleep that's why I came to get her some water" That was definately Yazid. No doubts.
"Don't you think she's faking all this?" The voice of Ayman haulered. "I mean she looks perfectly fine to me"
"She's faking this memory loss. Najwa, whatever is the reason you're doing this, it won't work young lady!"
"How is she supposed to be faking this, Mama. Be reasonable."
"I want her out of this place now! If it's memory loss, fine. So glad she won't have to remember me!"
I almost let out a cry at that moment. This time, this flashback was no longer vague, but much more vivid and clear, I could finally see my characters. Yazid and my so called mother. I slowly walked away from the kitchen door, not wanting to hear anymore.
"Here's your water" Yazid announced, locking the door behind him. I was too zoned out to hear him the first time, or the second.
I grabbed the cup form his hand after finally gaining my attention. I took a huge gulp. For some reason, I had the strongest urge to take a pill. Any kind of pill or drug.
"She's unconscious"
"She's lost blood!"
"I told her to not drive. Who even gave her the key?"
I closed my eyes, trying to collect my thoughts. I placed the glass cup on the side drawer, switching off the light beside me.
