It was a beautiful Wednesday afternoon in the city of New York, with autumn leaves covering the streets as people walked past each other on their way to see their family and friends. Couples were holding hands whilst they slowly walked by and smiled at each other, and even the elderly were out enjoying their lives and reminiscing in the "good ole days" with each other.

But in that same city was a blonde girl with eyes as blue as the summer sky and a smile as white as the first snow of November, lips covered with signature red lipstick, her look as bold as a lion and as elegant as a self-centered cat (very much like hers to be frank). She walked down the streets of this city thinking to herself what the hell she was doing there, for you see, this beautiful and young woman also happened to be recently heartbroken and was still very bitter over it, but she had the right idea at least, and went to a coffee shop near her Greenwich Village apartment. It was a mere ten-minute walk away and strolling alone let her wander and space out in her own mind. By the time she arrived, she was so lost in her thoughts that she almost missed it entirely, but the delightful smell of freshly brewed coffee stopped her dead in her tracks and called her inside.

The café was somewhat small but cozy with a few couches and chairs, a table in the centre of them, and a few other loners much like her seeking refuge from the autumn chill. Most costumers seemed to be in a hurry to get their coffee and leave, perhaps in a rush to see their family and loved ones, but since she had no one to rush to and cuddle, not anymore at least, she decided to drink her coffee calmly in one of the smaller sofas by the window.

She approached the counter ready to order her usual pumpkin spice latte, as was expected by any fall-lover, but for some reason she couldn't bring herself to enjoy it as she normally would, partly due to her current emotional estate, and also because (and she won't ever admit this if you asked) but she had ordered it one too many times for this season, and therefore she decided to go for a standard yet soothing vanilla cappuccino.

But when she got to the counter it was like lightning had suddenly stuck her awake after being asleep for a thousand years. She felt her heartache and vivid colors re-entered her life once more. It was so deeply intense she briefly pondered if she could be high (which was very unlikely as she had never even so much as held a joint, but at the moment it seemed reasonable) because behind the counter stood a pair of eyes so beautiful they made the galaxies look dull. It would be impossible to determine their color because there simply isn't one to compare but if an estimation were to be made, it was as if the blues and greens of the ocean crashed together like waves inside of those eyes, they had the boldness of the Atlantic, but held the warmth of the Amazon in them, and maybe, just maybe a dash of star dust to make them shine. They were so hopeful, so full of joy and light it was almost hard to look at them yet at the same time, they were soft enough so you would never want to look away, and so addictive you felt as if you wanted nothing more than to know every little part of them. And as if that were not enough, a bright genuine smile that was almost made of sunshine was in the softest lips she had ever seen. The grin was so big that on its sides, a little dimple started forming. Framing her slender face (something she would later describe as a "mansion with a view") were long light brown locks falling onto broad defined shoulders. Her eyes kept trailing every inch of the angel in front of her until her blue eyes fell on the name tag attached to the apron. "Karlie" was written in a beautiful cursive font. Captivated, she memorized the named and repeated it a thousand times in her head, thinking it was the most beautiful and unique name she had ever heard. But then again this now-named angel in front of her was all new and one of a kind to her.

But all good things must come to an end, and so when she looked up again and gave a shy smile, Karlie spoke up. "Hi! Welcome to Big Sur Café what can I get you?"
