"Oh look, they actually did it"

Iwaizumi Hajime and Oikawa Tōru stood in the stands of the Sendai City Gymnasium, still very  much in shock but tried their best to hide it. The orange-haired middle blocker landed on the wooden floorboards, and milliseconds later, the volleyball hit the floor, rolling towards the blue dividers. The entire stadium was still, and even the extremely worn-out players were holding their breaths.

The referee's whistle cut through the air like a frozen knife, and he held out an arm that signaled a point to Karasuno. The crowd was livid.

Underneath all the cries, (in this case screaming and literal crying) Oikawa recovered from his initial shock.

"Oh look, they actually-"

"GET WRECKED USHIWAKA!!!" Iwazumi shouted, clearly dominating the stadium volume-wise, and sending Oikawa flying out of his seat.

"Geez, Iwa-chan, I'm right next to you, what was that for???" Oikawa sat up. "Oh great, now they're all looking at us too."

The entire gymnasium was in fact, staring at the pair, once again silent. Both volleyball teams froze, not sure if they heard the voice correctly.

Kageyama squinted. "Was that...Iwaizumi who said that?"

The rest of the team looked and muttered in agreement. Oikawa finally got up from the floor, also revealing his presence.

"Wow! The Great King is here too!" Hinata exclaimed.

Ushijima turned. "Oikawa Tōru. He should have come to Shiratorizawa." The rest of the team behind him groaned, not understanding why Oikawa attending their school was such a big deal to him.

Suga stared at the pair in the stands for a long time. "Did-, did they skip school to watch the match?" (A/N I thought they did and that's why they were being secretive but I really don't know)

Iwaizumi could very much hear their comments, since the room was still conveniently silent.

"You know what? Now would be a great time to leave, don't you think?" Iwaizumi whispered.

The crowd eventually did go back to celebrating, quickly drowning out their conversation.

"Oh come on, you already went through all the trouble of announcing your existence to the entire city, might as well say congrats on their way out. Besides, it's not like disappearing now will make them magically forget by the time we have our next practice match."

Iwaizumi grimaced.

"Oh but we're waiting outside, I absolutely cannot stand to watch the award ceremony." Oikawa began to push him out the door.

Iwaizumi sat in one of the seats on the verge of an existential crisis while Oikawa paced the hallway, and it wasn't before long the orange-and-black jerseys showed up, hauling their equipment and medals with them, more exhausted and teary-eyed than anything. So when they saw Oikawa with his usual smile and Iwaizumi standing next to him, the sight wasn't as foreign as winning a match against the top powerhouse school in the prefecture.

"Congrats on the victory against Shiratorizawa! You all must be exhausted." Oikawa greeted, with seemingly no traces of malice.

Daichi grinned. "Ah, thank you-"

"Why were you guys watching us play?" Hinata asked, the question bothering him all throughout the awards ceremony.

"Yeah, why were there? You've already played against Shiratorizawa before, why watch us play?" Kageyama added.

"Did you two really skip out on school to watch the match?" Suga frowned. Oikawa swore that he could see the words that's not setting a good example for you kouhais hovering behind him. (A/N pun not intended, yes i know they are both setters im so sorry)

"Um, actually me and Iwaizumi didn't plan to watch it together, I didn't tell the team I was going to be here but we still saw each other in the stands-" Oikawa knew very well that he did not answer a single question being directed at him, as it was exactly what he was trying to do.

Iwaizumi shrugged. "Oikawa told us last night he wasn't going to come watch the match, and I caught him red-handed and he said he wanted to see both sides' look of defeat when either of you lost."

"Don't say it so bluntly, Iwa-chan!" Oikawa complained.

"Oh, and congrats." And with that, Iwaizumi turned towards the doors and walked off, Oikawa whining behind him.

The rest of Karasuno was too tired to process what had happened.

"Er...what?" Yamaguchi blinked.

"Never mind that. We still have to eat something and get back to school to drop off our stuff, so don't just stand there." Daichi ordered.

"And if it matters that much to you simpletons, you can ask your questions again at our next practice match." Tsukishima stated dryly.

Suddenly, Hinata, Kageyama, Tanaka, and Noya looked very determined to interrogate someone when the opportunity arose, and that opportunity was going to be soon.

~Outside~

Iwaizumi walked out of the Sendai City Gymnasium with a moping Oikawa trailing after him.

"So then when is our next practice match against Karasuno? I need to prepare mentally."

"Maybe should of thought of that before you shouted 'get wrecked Ushiwaka' in a stadium full of Shiratorizawa students, Iwa-chan."

"Just shut up and tell me when it is, Crappy-kawa."

"So mean Iwa-chan!" Oikawa pouted. "Our next practice match is on Tuesday, I'm pretty sure."

"Too soon."

"Well, you better pull yourself together then, because I still expect the best from you. Toodles!" and with that, he flounced off into the horizon, with a very concerned Iwaizumi staring him down.

The following chapter will contain a list of  instances where Oikawa and Iwaizumi regret everything so buckle yo seat belts
