Chapter Fifteen: Bonds

POV: Zero

This is nice...

It was morning when I woke up, and I was still snuggling with Gadget. I smiled to myself and buried my head in his chest again.

Stupid wolf, I'm getting feelings for you.

Dammit.

I won't loose you too.

He won't take me away from you.

Gadget shuffled closer to me before falling asleep again. I felt my hard exterior crack and shatter.

I promise to protect you.

I wrapped my arms around him before falling asleep again.

A few hours later I woke up again, I heard some sounds coming from above me and slowly raised my head from a chest of fur.

Gadget was playing some sort of game on his phone, I shuffled out of his embrace and yawned.

"Morning" Gadget chirped and put his phone down.

"Good morning" I stretched and sighed contently, I layed back down and looked at him, "What were you playing?" I asked and stroked his chest fur with a single claw.

"Tetris, it's an old game" Gadget chuckled and rubbed one of my large ears. "You were still sleeping on me so I decided to play a quick game"

I hummed in understanding, laying my head down on his chest to hear his beating heart. Gadget moved his hand to the top of my head and gently scratched there with his short claws, unknowingly making me purr in response, we both froze from the purr.

"You didn't hear that" I grumbled.

Gadget laughed gently, "Sureee" he returned to scratching my head. "Big softie" he smirked.

"For you only..." I mumbled into his chest.

It delved into a comfortable silence from then, just the sounds of soft breathing was heard in the room - and my purrs from Gadget finding one of my sweet spots.

I was content on his chest, the beat of his heart comforting me.

"Zero?" Gadget spoke softly. I looked up at him, "Yes?" I asked.

"Who am I to you?" he asked and looked at me, searching for answers.

I smiled and cupped his cheek, "My lifesaver"

He smiled from that and nuzzled my hand that layed on his furry cheek. I shuffled up so I was face-to-face with him.

I hesitated for a second but Gadget beat me to it and planted his soft lips on mines. My eyes widened in shock from his move but over a few seconds I relaxed and deepened the sweet kiss.

Gadget pulled away and smiled widely, a large pink blush spread over his tan muzzle. I chuckled and smiled back, stroking his cheek and admiring those bright amber eyes. He stroked my cheek in return, "I love you" he whispered.

I felt my heart skip a beat, I wrapped my arms around him. "I love you too"
