When we Say

Liam

And this is the part when we say we're in love

And the part where we have our first kiss

But this ain't a movie, I know you can't come with me

You got your life, he better be treating you right

These words hit me like a bowling ball. I love her, but I can't manage to tell her. It will just ruin our good friendship. Friendship. If only it could be something more between Tiffany and I. If only. Why did those words have to exist?

This hurts so much, to know that you're with someone else when you should be with me

It's just hard to accept that I can't be around

He better be treatin' you good

I'm no Einstein but I know a sign when I see one

And I know you love me too

And I know you love me too...

That's the problem. I don't know if she loves me back. I mean, how could she love me? When she has her boyfriend, Mark. Mark better be treating her good. Cause if one day, he let her go, he's making a huge mistake. Letting the most perfect girl go, and into the arms of someone else. And if that happens, I could be that someone. Someone who'll love her always, fully. And that someone who'll beat the shit out of Mark for hurting her.

And this is the part when we say we're in love

And the part where we say it's forever

But this ain't a fantasy, I know you can't come with me

You got your life, he better be treating you good, so good

You got your life, he better be treating you right

Yeah, Tiffany, Mark better treats you right. You don't deserve to get hurt. No, you don't. If only you knew. My thoughts get cut off by my ringtone. I check the caller ID, and see that it's Tiffany. I immediately pick it up.

"Hello, Tiff?" I got startled when I hear her sniffing, and her voice is cracking.

"Liam, he che-cheated on me." He better be treating you right. The line in the song plays in my head. And I remember the promise I made to myself. To be there when this happens, and to beat the shit out of Mark.

"I'll beat the shit out of him. You don't deserve this, Tiffany! A girl like you could do better than Mark. You could do better, Tiff. Hang on, I'l be there in a jiffy." I say to her.

"You don't have to go to my place, when I'm already at yours, Liam." And just like that, I hear the door open, and saw beautiful Tiffany crying her eyes out. I come to her quickly and hold her.

"Shush, it's gonna be alright, I'm here." I say, comforting her.

"That's true, Liam. You were always here. And I want to punch myself from not knowing that. Mark was never there, but you were. And now, I realize that I was never in love with Mark, and that I was in love with you, Liam. I made a big mistake, and I'm sorry. I love you, Liam." I felt my heart bounce in joy. Finally, it seems right. Tiffany, in my arms, saying that she loves me back.

"I love you, Tiffany. Always have, and always will."
