"MOM!!"Evelyn screamed. Evie rushed in.
"Yes sweetie?"she asked.
"I'm hungryyyyyy,"the child complained. Evie sighed.
"You ate only an hour ago."
"I'm still hungryyyyy..."
"Dinner will be ready soon, wait 'til then." Evelyn groaned.
"I don't want tooooo..."
"Well you have to, now go bug someone else." Evelyn groaned again before bouncing upstairs and bursting into her and Paige's room.
"Mom said we have to wait..."she complained, flopping onto her bed. Paige looked down from her perch on the top bunk. The pair shared bunk beds, since Evie only had two spare rooms for the kids, and they agreed Cameron should have his own since he's a boy and they're girls.
"Evie sucks..."Paige replied before turning back to her book.
"Yeah... your mom is better."
"Eh, she's alright." Paige's mom, Mal, was on a trip with Uma and Harry and wasn't coming back until August. It was June.
"At least she doesn't make us wait hours to eat when we're obviously starving!"
"Actually-"
"No, don't start with your smart shit." Cameron poked his head around the door.
"Evie said you aren't allowed to swear,"he said.
"Well she doesn't need to know,"Evelyn replied.
"I'm telling-"
"Snitched get stitches and end up in ditches,"she snarled, glaring at the small boy. Cameron was two years younger then the girls and was similar to Carlos. Small, fragile and sensitive. His eyes geared up and he ran downstairs. "Crybaby,"Evelyn grinned, turning back to her friend.
"That was mean,"Paige said, frowning.
"So?"
"You know how sensitive he is. You wouldn't say that to Uncle Carlos, right?"
"No."
"So don't say it to Cameron."
"You're not the boss of me."
"I'm older then you."
"By six months!"
"That's longer then you think,"Paige finished, signalling the conversation was over by turning back to her book. Evelyn had bullied Cameron for as long as she could remember, but she always got the blame. Being the oldest sucked. It was almost like she was expected to be their guardian, when she was only fourteen. Evelyn groaned before face-planting her bed.

Cameron rushed downstairs and into his parents room. "Evelyn said I'm gonna end up in a ditch if I tell on her!"he cried. Carlos frowned before pulling his son into a hug. Jay was nowhere to be seen. "Where's dad?"he asked.
"He's gone out,"Carlos replied. Cameron didn't seem to notice the white-haired male's red eyes and messy hair.
"Why? And where?"
"I'm not sure where,"Carlos' voice cracked slightly at the end.
"What happened? Did you have an argument?"
"Yeah, a little one."
"How come I didn't hear? I was upstairs?"
"It wasn't here. We were out of the house." Cameron frowned but left it. The pair sat there for a while until they heard Evie yell, "DINNER!"
"Go on,"Carlos said, standing up. They walked downstairs, Evelyn and Paige running past them. They sat at the table, but Carlos stayed standing up.
"You okay, Pup?"Evie asked.
"I'm gonna go for a quick walk, I'll be back soon."
"Okay." Carlos headed out of the house while Evie have the kids their plates. The puppy boy walked for a while before spotting Jay leaning on a tree. He quickly rushed over and tapped his husband on the shoulder. Jay looked at him.
"I'm sorry..."he mumbled, looking away. Carlos frowned.
"What're you sorry for? It was my fault-"
"No, no it wasn't. I shouldn't stop you from talking to people and making new friends. I was getting jealous. I'm sorry, you don't deserve that."
"Babe." Carlos took Jay's cheek in his hand and gently turned it so that he was looking him in the eye. "I'm sorry. It wasn't your fault, don't blame yourself like that. It's okay to get jealous sometimes, but I didn't handle it well. You just wanted to make sure I loved you, and I took it the wrong way. It was mostly my fault. Don't tell yourself you're the bad guy. I love you."
"I love you too." Jay pulled Carlos into a quick kiss before the pair walked back hand-in-hand.
