I parked my car in the driveway after managing to escape traffic. As I came down from my car I spotted Ada my neighbor.
Ada stays in one of the flats on the ground floor while I stayed in one of the flats on the middle floor.
As I walked towards the building she greeted in her high pitched voice "Ife good evening "
"good evening, how are you? "
"I'm fine, you look stressed "
"yeah " I answered
"I have some left over food, I would bring some up for you" she offered
"oh thank you, that's very nice of you but I already had dinner before coming home " I lied..
The thing is Ada is very nosy and likes to meddle in people's affairs and I know the invitation to come over is just a way for her to come gossip and I'm not ready for it.
"oh OK then good night " she said
"good night "
Getting in, I turned on the lights, went to my room to freshen up and headed to the kitchen to make noodles for dinner because I'm too tired to make a serious meal.
As I settled down to eat I heard my phone ring, I picked up my phone and the caller ID read unknown.
"hello " I said immediately I picked up the call
"hello beautiful " the person said who is obviously a guy
"and who am I speaking with? " I asked
"someone who happens to have been privileged to meet a beauty like you "
"are you going to answer me " I asked already getting angry.
"I already did "
"I'm going to disconnect this call if you don't answer me "
"whoa whoa, calm down " he said
"are you going to answer me now? "
"alright, it's Femi "
"Femi who? "
"Wow! I'm hurt. It's Femi Williams "
I tried to remember who he was then it clicked "oh! I'm sorry, I was just angry at the way you introduced yourself at first. " I explained.
It's been almost two weeks since the wedding and I didn't even still expect him to call because I thought he would have called within the first week.
"I'm sorry for making you angry "
"it's fine "
"how are you? " he asked
"I'm okay, I'm just stressed "
"oh sorry, I guess I should leave you to rest. So I'll call you some other time "
"okay, thank you " I said
"you're welcome and don't forget to save my number "
"sure bye " I replied
"bye " he said and I ended the call .
