Room 257

The NEW beginning

I stretched, then opened my eyes expecting to be still at Michaels house and wake up next to him, but I then remembered that I ran from him! A smile soon grew on my face. Realizing I was finally free...but for how long? I hopped out of bed happily. Then went over to the balcony and swung the curtains out the way, and swung open the doors. Breathing in the great smell of pancakes from the diners and the sweet smell of the flowers down below. The wind whirled around me. I smiled and chuckled to myself. I'm still getting used to being away from him!

It'll take time...

I soon started unpacking. Then changed into a t shirt and shorts then pulled on my sandals.

"Morning love!" Said Davon. "morning!" I replied, rushing past him. "Where you off to?" He asked, full of curiosity. "Breakfast!". I heard him laugh behind me. The elevator door opened up, like it knew I was coming. I stepped in full of excitement.

I soon entered the cafe place, I was expecting less people! I looked around. There was a woman with her two kids, that were surprisingly behaving well, a man with his wife. And an elderly man with his beautiful wife. And a few more people. I was the only one there with no partner. It bothered me...only a little.

I walked slowly and shyly towards the food table. People looked, then went back to eating.  As I was getting my food, there was a lady. Around my age, maybe older, serving herself some eggs, toast and a waffle. She looked over at me, she gasped. Then my eyes went wide. "You must be Xena!" She said excitedly. How did she know me?

Davon and Collin must of talked about me some

"Yes, hi" I said quietly. She soon looked confused. "Why so shy? No need to be, I'm Katelyn" she said smiling. Man everyone is nice here. Their treating me like family if you think about it. She's nice. I like her. Sorta.

"Nice to meet you" I said side smiling. She laughed "there's a smile!" She said happily. "Collin and Davon talked about you a lot this morning"

I thought so!

I Laughed. "All good things?" I asked. She chuckled. "All good things" she replied.

"Want to sit with me and the crew?" She asked after an awkward silence. "I-I'd love to" I said, hesitating a little. She smiled and led me to this big room, with a circled table in the middle of it. I was excited to see Davon and Collin talking to some other workers. At least I knew three people here now...

I'm not so alone anymore. But why do I still feel

Alone...

Katlyn took me to two chairs. She sat in one of them and patted her hand for me to sit in the next one. I sat down with my food and waited.

"What do we do?" I asked leaning over and whispering in her ear. "You just talk, sit and eat, sometimes we play a pit of poker" she whispered.

Poker?

"I've never played poker" I whispered to her. She looked over at me. Was she expecting me to? "We'll teach you, you're probably gonna be great at it!". I smiled and soon saw Collin and Davon walking over with their plates of food.

"There she is" said Collin putting his food down then sitting in the chair next to me. "Good morning!" I said happily. "Sleep well?" Asked Collin, then Davon looked over his shoulder. "I did" I replied picking up my fork. "Well, that's great to hear" Davon said chiming in. Before I could answer, someone from the other side of the table said aloud, "My wife is having a baby!". Everyone gasped at different times, then cheered. And some got up and hugged him.

I've always wanted to be a mom. I've always wondered what it was like.

And I would be there for the baby...not leave it then come back to it, like my mother did to me.

I sighed.

After breakfast everyone went back to work.

The day went on...we all had lunch together and I even learned how to play poker! I didn't win any money, but it was fun.

I had a full day of laughter...no sad moments. No worries. No panics.

It soon got dark...I decided to sneak up to my room be for dinner was totally over, It was quiet going down the hall. It was normal. Loud in the morning, dead silent at night.

How long have I even been here? Felt like I've been here for a few weeks.

I plopped on the bed after taking a warm shower and putting on some pajamas, of course. Before I dozed off to sleep and or got too comfortable, there was a light knock at the door. I got up and threw a robe on.

"We just wanted to come say goodnight, didn't see you after dinner" Collin said quietly. "I'm sorry, I got tired..." I replied. "It's all good dear" said Davon. "Was Katlyn good to you?" He added. I smiled. "She was great to me". Davon smiled and Collin chuckled. "Group hug" Collin whispered. We all excitedly had a big group hug, then said goodnight and they were off.

Are you all liking Davon and Collin? As for me their kinda my favorite, I decided to make them nice but if you messed with them and or someone they knew and cared about, like Xena, I'd stay at LEAST 10 feet away from them! See y'all in the next chapter!
