It was hard, to let go, to forget my fantasies and face reality, to accept whatever life had thrown against me, but what choice was I left withGradually, I learnt to forget Mr. Arrogant and just embrace my fate. It did happen, I let him out of my mind, but then my horrible nightmares came back only that this time, a hero always appeared and you needn't ask who it was.
After my second semester exams, I went home on vacation and that could be my worst mistake ever.
While introduction between mine and Salim's families was done, my very monster happened to be Salim's uncle who would stand as his guardian for the marriage.
He was right there in front of me, his signature smirk plastered on his face and all I could remember was that cruel day, the day I got my childhood, dignity and happiness snatched away by him.
I got panic attack the second our eyes came in contact and after then, I saw nothing else but darkness.
I woke up to a sharp light which caused my eyes to hurt. Gradually, the last scene replayed and I jerked up.
"Hey. Lay down back..you.." Salim rushed to me and made me lay back.
"I'm fine, let me sit." I said in a fake sick tone.
"No. You're not fine. You've been crying in your sleep." He said, worries written all over his face.
"What? For how long have I been here?" I looked around to study the room.
Hospital
"Like 20hrs. Just lie still, let me get you something."
"No. I can't stay here." I tried to sit again but stopped when a new voice spoke.
"You have to, Deena. You're not well." I heard Ya Farhan say.
"Ya Farhan.."
"Hey.."
"Neenahh!!! How are you here?" I attempted to sit up again and this time, no one stopped me.
She gave me a warm hug and suddenly, I felt the urge to shed.
"Heyy..why are you crying now. You don't like me here?" She patted my back gently
"No. I've been needing this hug for long. Thank you." I finished with a sniff
"Oh. Take your time then." I heard Ya Farhan sigh and make his way to the exit. Maybe he muttered "ladies" or "girls".
"Now tell me why you had to pass out during family intro." She asked as she pulled out of the hug.
