"yo mattsun can you pass the chips." hanamaki called over the noise of whatever boring TV show they were watching at the moment.
the two aoba johsai third years were lounging in matsukawa's basement. it was the night before their third year was to begin, so they were ringing in the school year together as tradition calls for.
matsukawa rolled his eyes, "get your lazy ass up and get it for yourself," he said, not bothering to look away from the TV.
hanamaki hit his friend repeatedly on the arm childishly, imitating some kind of one sided sissy fight.
"this show's ass anyway, why are you so invested in it!" he whined.
"makki if you don't shut up i'm going to slap you so hard you'll forget your name." matsukawa droned, a deadpan expression settling onto his face.
"does our friendship mean nothing to you brother?" hanamaki asked, "i have a few things to say if it doesn't."
matsukawa paused the TV and turned to fully face his friend, "makki what the actual fuck are you saying?"
hanamaki sighed dramatically, throwing his head back in fake pain, "i just can't believe you're subjecting me to such torture. i don't think you could've picked anything more boring."
"fuck you hanamaki, do you not care if the couple loves it or lists it?" matsukawa asked, genuinely offended.
"no i don't, mattsun. i still can't believe you're watching HGTV. just wait until captain hears about this! he'll never let it go." hanamaki giggles, an evil smirk on his lips.
matsukawa gasped, "okay, okay fine! i'll turn it off! please don't tell cap!"
hanamaki snickered, "okay! it'll be our little secret."
"what else should we do? my parents don't care enough to buy netflix and we've already went through all of the channels," matsukawa asked.
"maybe we can play a board game or something?" hanamaki suggested.
matsukawa snorted, "what the fuck? it's not 1920 idiot. why would we play a board game?"
"i dunno. reminisce about the past without technology? what did we do without our nintendos?" hanamaki said.
"bro, we weren't even alive before mainstream technology." matsukawa stated, raising an eyebrow.
hanamaki sighed, "just go with it, i'm looking in your game closet."
matsukawa shifted into a different spot in the couch, grabbing the blanket that he and hanamaki previously shared before the pink haired blanket hog left for the game closet.
"you're not gonna find anything interesting!" he called over his shoulder.
hanamaki let out a boisterous laugh. "that is where you're wrong my friend. you'll never believe what i just found."
