It was getting late. The sun was starting to set. Luckily you weren't too far from a small town. There was a motel in the middle of town that the guys had just planned on stopping for the night at. Just a cheap roadside place that was clean enough to sleep in.

You watched as the sky was progressively getting darker. Maybe that guy, 'Rusty Nail', was right. He had been saying it was gonna rain hard that night. You wondered about him. The CB had been quiet for almost 2 hours. No mention about Black Sheep or Candy Cane.

It made you wonder whether or not he had just given up as a lost opportunity and moved on. Maybe he was waiting. Who knows? Maybe it was just best to forget it and focus on the rest of the trip. After all, it was supposed to be a fun get together, not some day long car ride to be spent contemplating a voice on the other side of the CB.

You rubbed your eyes and looked over at Lewis who was busy yawning. You leaned over the seat, to look at Fuller. He was laying down in the backseat, asleep. You rolled you eyes a bit with a smile before you sat forward again. Lewis looked at you.

"I can't wait until we get to that motel. I'm starting to get tired." You nodded and jerked your thumb towards the back seat. "Yeah, no kidding. Fuller's already passed out back there." Lewis adjusted the mirror as he looked into it, back at Fuller.

"I'm not carrying him to the room." You laughed and shook your head. "Well I'm not either. How bout we just agree to leave him in the car?" Lewis smiled as he fixed the mirror. "Can't argue with that.

Lewis paused as he fixed the rear view mirror. Ha paused on it for a moment before he looked back in his side mirror. You looked back as Fuller sat up with a sleepy yawn. "Hey. We there yet?" Lewis didn't answer and you were too busy focusing on him to really give an answer.

Lewis suddenly turned to you with a slightly concerned look. "Hey, how long has that truck been behind us?" You raised an eyebrow at him and grabbed the rear view mirror, adjusting it so you could see.

There was a large black flat-top Peterbilt right behind you. You frowned at it a bit but shook your head, fixing the mirror back into place. "I don't know..." Fuller shrugged. "C'mon, it's a busy highway. These guys are fucking everywhere."

Lewis gave a quiet "yeah..." as he looked back in the side mirror at the truck. You gave a small laugh, obvious of the slight tension of the trucks presence. "Hey, how far is that town you said? Maybe we can stop for dinner or something. I'll buy."

Fuller instantly brightened up. "Hell yeah. See now, this is what we came out here for. To have a good time. Now worry about some truck that's been behind us for an hour....or two..."

You pulled out the map and ran your finger up the highway you were on, finding the town. "There's an exit not too far up here you'll want to take."

It was down pouring by the time you got to the motel. The large red and white neon sign read out, "Lone Star Motel vancany." You and Lewis sat inside the car as Fuller ran in to get a room. You both watched as he ran in, faking a heavy limp and falling over the other end of the car. You and Lewis laughed.

There was another man in there already. Fuller gave you a look as the other man in there was apparently arguing with the desk clerk.

After a moment you watched as he shoved Fuller out of the way as he exited to his car. The older man got in his car and pulled away, parking in front of what you assumed was his room. You turned and shrugged to Lewis. It was then when it came through again.

"Candy Cane." Lewis's gaze shot down to the CB and your mouth fell open a slight bit.

"Candy Cane?" Lewis looked up at you and you covered your mouth with a hand.

"Hello? Candy Cane?"

The door opened and Fuller climbed in with a huff, shutting the door. "God..." He looked between Lewis and you. "Hey did you see that fat fucking guy-" Lewis stuck his hand out. "Shhh."

"Listen." Fuller paused a minute, confused.

"Hello, Candy Cane. Are you there?" Fuller's face dropped. "You are kidding me." Lewis looked at him, almost amazed. "Can you believe that?" Fuller turned to you. "Have you talked to him yet?" You shook your head. "No, I haven't said anything yet."

"Anybody out there know Candy Cane,  c'mon."

Fuller slowly turned to you with a strange stare. He held it for a minute before you frowned. "What?" Without breaking his stare Fuller said, "Tell him you want to meet up. Tell him you want to get together." You let out a heavy sigh and shook your head. "You're turning in for the night, you want to see him later at the Lone Star motel in Tablerock, room 17."

You gave him a unamused glare. "Do you just love prison so much?" Fuller shook his head. "No, no, no. I mean you saw that prick, right?" Lewis cut in. "What? You mean the giant?" Fuller nodded, looking between you two. "The prick is in room 17!" You shook your head. "No, I cant do that."

"Come on! That guy sucks, okay?! He totally body checked me on the way out!" You glanced back for a second. "Yeah, I know. I saw that." Fuller's mouth dropped. "What?! You saw that?! And you're not jumping at this extraordinary opportunity to extract some much deserved revenge?! Are you crazy?!?!"

You looked away. "Come on! Do it!" You laughed a little bit. "No way!" Fuller almost jumped in his seat. "This is amazing!" You picked up the mic from the CB and shook your head, clicking it and letting go with hesitation. Fuller waited with anticipation.

"Rusty Nail? Hey there." Fuller grinned at you.

"Candy Cane? I'd thought I lost ya."

"Well I guess fate wouldn't allow that. Glad to know you're thinking about me." Fuller quickly pointed at the motel's sign and you rolled your eyes, waving him off.

"Listen, I'm pulling over for the night. You wouldn't be interested in getting together later, would ya?"

"I- I though you were meeting the Black Sheep."

"Well. That was the plan but how bout I blow him off and take a chance with you?" With the click Fuller lost it. "I love you, y/n! You're doing great!"

"I'm not sure I'd be what you'd expect-"

"Well, you are a man aren't you? With a soul and a heart. That's all I'd expect." There was silence for a minute and you jumped at a loud crash of thunder that came right over you.

"Listen. I'll be at the Lone Star motel in Tablerock if you're interested." Fuller gave you a evil grin. "Pink Champagne. Tell him that you like pink champagne." Fullers voice broke down into a laugh as he spoke.

"And if there's anyway you could bring some pink champagne. It's my favorite." With the click, more static came in.

"What room?" Fuller gave a wheeze.

"Room 17. Midnight. You got that baby?"

"I got it."

"I can't wait." You hung up the mic and buried your face into the back of the seat, looking up after a moment. "That was mean..." Fuller couldn't help but keep smiling. "I know. I know." He suddenly broke into a laugh. "This is awesome!"

You gave him a slighty sad look. Fuller's shoulders slumped a little. "Hey, that guy sucked, okay? He totally body checked me on the way out." You frowned a bit, looking out the window.

"Yeah..."
