Twenty-Eight Chapter

We walked out of the room. We stand at the top of the stairs. Ondreaz kisses my forehead and takes off my crown handing it to Tony. Xanai did the same with Sol and Aunt Vanessa.
Sol: Are you ready?
Luna: Never. He jumped over the railing of the stairs landing bent down. I carefully climbed over and looked at Ondreaz. He looked so scared which almost psyched me out but then I looked at Aunt Vanessa who gave me an assuring smile. I dropped down. As I rose up I looked up and all of my friends who were in shock. They were all dressed in white. I was so nervous. Sway was there, hype of course, Jordyn and Jordan, Tayler, Mads, Kelianne, Madi, Nate and anyone else who I’ve told you about that you can think of. These are some of my closest friends. Bryant was the third photographer. We went through the ceremony. The final part came. At this time Sol and I are holding hands, sitting with legs folded, facing each other crying. Everyone but the court and Avani has been cleared. Our parents are leading the ceremony.
Papa: King Sol reveal your secret.
Sol: I um, I love my wife and daughter. They mean so much to me. I never thought I could love two people so much. Princess Luna of court Fuego, I have been hiding that I’m scared that I’m going to mess up our family like papa did ours.
Mom: Princess Luna reveal your secret. I held my head down as tears fell from my eyes.
Luna: I never wanted to be in a relationship but from the moment I met Ondreaz in person we just clicked. King Sol, ruler of Safe Haven I’m afraid that I’m going to mess up like papa did as well. Sol and I stood up and blew out the final candle. 

My father is as cold as ever. My mom has tears in her eyes and quickly wipe them.
Mom: Let’s continue the ceremony.
Luna: No I need a break.
Papa: We can’t break tradition.
Luna: Did you not just hear your son and daughter? I started walking over to them. I got right in their faces. Ondreaz puts his arm around my waist pulling me back a bit. 
Luna: Our problems come from you. Where was tradition when you messed up our family so bad it took years to put back together! Whether you like it or not it’s still messed up. I don’t care about tradition.  

I walked upstairs with tears. I got into my room and slammed the door. I sat on my bed and cried. My first valentine’s day and birthday with Ondreaz is ruined. I felt broken, like everything that I’ve been trying to hide was in the light. Ondreaz came in. He sat on the bed facing me. 
Luna: I would never cheat on you. I know what I said but that’s just a fear. And I’m so sorry. 
Ondreaz: For what? Babe listen, we’re going to have rough patches and troubles. You are not perfect just like me, our lives aren’t. That’s something we have to work on, together.
Luna: You’re not mad I just ruined our Valentine’s day?  
Ondreaz: You didn’t ruin anything. I wiped my tears. He handed me a tissue. I wiped my face. He kissed my forehead and pulled me in for a hug. Tony, Avani and Sol come in. Sol sits on the bed next to me. Tony and Avani stand around me.
Tony: You okay little sis?
Luna: I feel like this whole time I’ve been putting up this front about the perfect family. When it’s really messed up and I think we all wanted to pretend that it wasn’t. That’s the royal mentality. Pretend like gods so that your nation respects you but you guys aren’t my nation. I shouldn’t have felt that way around you guys. 
Tony: We grew up with parents fighting too. We all go through things, that’s life. Depending on each other is human. We’re all f*cked up one way or another. 
Sol: We’re going to be okay sis. Especially you, with all of these people I don’t need to worry about you anymore. You’re in good hands here. 

Xanai and Estrella come in. Estrella automatically jumps into Ondreaz’s lap and we all laugh. 
I looked around at all of the people who loved me.
Mom: We have a plane in three hours, we must complete the ceremony now. Sol will you be on that plane? Sol looked at me as if he was asking permission to go. I lightly shake my head yes. 
Sol: No, Estrella will be and if Xanai wants to leave she can go. Tonight I celebrate with my sister. 
Papa: Nice to see your sister rubbing off on you. Hopefully it won’t rub off on your child.
Mom: Stfu! Sh!t. I am so done with you. You f*cked up. Stop trying to groom them into the perfect royals just because you weren’t. Your obsession to make up for what you did is what’s driving this family mad. We were all shocked. My mom walked off and papa embarrassed walked behind her. Estrella started crying. She laid her head down on Ondreaz’s chest. He rubbed and patted her back. She stopped crying and just pouted. Sol and I look at each other and high five. 
Avani: What?
Sol: We have been waiting for our mom to snap for a year. 
Luna: Yes, lately she’s been so quiet. Mom’s coming back!
Sol: While we’re being honest. Mom and papa don’t have any control over you. You don’t need to answer a phone call, text or anything. You don’t even need to talk to me. Luna after today, you’re no longer princess Luna until you have to be. 
Luna: Best birthday gift ever! Let’s finish the ceremony and…
Sol: Have fun!

We all laugh and go downstairs to finish the ceremony. We had to get fuego tattooed on us. I tattooed my wrist and Sol tattooed his rib. Sol had to pierce his ears and I had to pierce my nose. Everyone came back into the living room and watched as I cried while I got my tattoo and piercing. Ondreaz held my hand the entire time. Bryce will probably never let me live that down. When it was done we got to change! So happy for that. 

Jay: Please open the way for King and Princess Fuego of Safe Haven. We walk to the middle of the room and I feel so weird.
Luna: Thanks everyone for coming. I know this can seem a little weird and different but truly it is a blessing to have you all here. It shows true friendship and dedication. The ceremony is now complete. Grab a drink, have some food and let the fire guide you.  Everyone cheered and disbursed for drinks and socializing. 
I was talking with Bryce, Addison, Nick B and Tayler.
Tayler: This was fun. It’s nice to get a sense of a different culture.
Nick B: I’m just here for the free drinks. We laugh.
Addison: Well I’m here to celebrate and support my friend. 
Luna: Thank you Addison. At Least I have two friends here. I hug her eyeing Bryce and Nick. Then I feel someone tap my shoulder. I turn around and it’s my parents. 
Luna: This should take no longer than two minutes. Say what you have to say right now.
Tayler: Should we go?
Luna: No. Mom, I know, we’re not in the best place right now but I do love you. You kept it down like no one else could. And papa, it's my life. My friends, my boyfriend and my family. The problem I have is my problem. The problem you have is for you and only for you.
Mom: M’hija. So wise just being here for less than two months. There is something to learn here. I love you and be as free as possible, don't worry about the crown. Worry about your crown. I hugged her.
Papa: Wise but still not at the standard you should be. I love you Luna, I do but after all I’ve done for you and your brother I would have hoped for a better outcome. My mom slapped him.
Mom: Julio, nothing else. You will not speak to my daughter like this! He stood there in shock and my mom looked pisssed. Then she turned to everyone and smiled. 
Mom: Hi I’m queen Alexandra but you guys can call me Alexa. Luna’s mom.
Tayler: Uh hi! I’m Tayler, this Addison, Bryce and Nick.
Mom: Such beautiful people. I have to go but I wanted to meet some of you. Take care of this wild one. She gave me one last hug and started walking away. My papa just stood there staring at the ground.
Mom: Julio! He walked after her giving me one last look.
Bryce: So you get being a savage from your mom. I laugh.
Nick: Your mom slapped the sh*t out of your dad. Sol taps my shoulder.
Sol: Hey guys. Luna, everyone is cleaning up time for us to go and get some lunch.
Luna: I got to go guys. See you tomorrow for filming right?
Bryce: Yes! Tomorrow, that’s when I’m gonna see you again because this is the only time I get to see you...
Addison: Let’s go pick out an outfit for brunch and I would love to meet Xanai. You talk about her all the time.
Luna: But I'm already... She starts pushing me to my room before I can say anything. We’re still not done Diary there is more.
