It was the middle of the day on June 6th of 2011. Rohan Kishibe was leaned against the countertop in his kitchen, plotting the next arc for his manga. Katsu was frying in the pan, but Rohan was careful not to get fried oil on himself- though he wasn't really paying attention all that much.

"Hey, Umi. The Katsu's going to be finished in a few minutes." Rohan mumbled, still focused on the notebook and pen he was holding. "Can you wait?"

Umi was on the ground, stomach down, scribbling with his sparkly blue crayon in a coloring book. The sparkly blue was his favorite color. It reminded him of the sea - and of his papa.

"Yahuh!" Umi nodded. There was a brief silence of pen and crayon scribbles. "Whats the kanji forあ and い put together?" Umi asked, looking up from his coloring book, which had the hiragana symbols scribbled.

"Ai? Love, right? You're learning kanji, Umi?" Rohan raised an eyebrow, turning his head to face the child on the floor. "No, but I want to learn kanji to impress my friends at school!" Umi looked up to his father, who was still leaning on the countertop.

Rohan set his notebook down on the countertop island. He checked the katsu, then he went to kneel on the floor next to Umi. He took a green crayon that was among the scattered mess on the floor. He grinned to Umi, and wrote the messy kanji " 愛 "

"Woah!" Umi exclaimed. "It's a simple one, but I assume this is your first kanji?" Rohan chuckled at the child. Umi nodded and tried to replicate the 愛 with his crayon, but it came out rather messy. "It takes practice, Umi." Rohan grinned and got up from where he was standing, and went back to get the katsu off the pan. Umi rocked his legs back and forth as he continued to scribble the kanji.

"Hey, dad?" Umi mumbled. "Mm?" Rohan looked back at Umi. "When's papa getting home?"

"He was on a trip for his job. He's coming back today with a visitor, sweetheart." Rohan was slicing the katsu into little squares - since that's how Umi liked them. He put the katsu squares in a bowl, along with fresh white rice. he placed two chopsticks on the top of the bowl, then he walked around the counter to sit back on the floor with Umi.

"Sit up, it's not good to eat while laying down." Rohan looked at Umi as he sat up from his laying position. He passed the small bowl to Umi. Umi said his thanks, and then he began to eat. Rohan got up to grab his notebook and red pen, then he went back to sit with the little boy.

"Are koichi onii-san and yukako onee-chan coming over today?" Umi looked up from his coloring book. "later today and tomorrow." Rohan smiled. "since it's my birthday tomorrow."

Umi nodded with a grin, and then went back to coloring. Then there was a knock at the door.

Rohan tilted his head, one eyebrow cocked. he placed his pen and notebook down, and went to answer the door.

Opening the door, he recognized a tall figure, and grinned.

"You're back!" Rohan smiled, walking forward to hug his husband. Umi looked to the door and squealed, running to Jotaro for a hug.

"Papa!" Umi squealed. "Hello, Umi." Jotaro grinned and kneeled to give his son a hug. "Who'd you bring?" Rohan asked, with one hand at his hip. He was looking down toward Umi and Jotaro, but then he looked up. Past Jotaro's shoulder, he saw the car jotaro drove in parked at the curb. There was a girl emerging from the car, a bag slung over her shoulder. Her hair was a blueish black, with bright green highlights. Rohan noticed she looked quite nervous.

"Papa, who's that?" Umi asked, pointing to the girl who was now making her way toward the door. "That's your older sister, Umi."

Rohan almost choked on air. He looked to Jotaro. "Jotaro- your...?" he asked almost in an exclamation. The girl came up to the door, looking away from the others, rubbing her arm. Jotaro stood up and placed a hand on her head.

"This my biological daughter. Jolyne."

Jotaro never mentioned a biological daughter.
