Power in Death: Book 1 of The Destiny in Death Series

The bitch

I look over the room, it's in the same colour scheme as the rest of the building but with 3 black couches in a u-shape around a large dark oak desk. A woman sits there surrounded by papers and fancy ornaments. The one with a hooded man pointing a knife at a deer freaks me out a bit. I look up and examine the lady still flipping papers. She  is only slightly older than me maybe by only by a couple of years. 

She has black hair shaped into a pristine bun and sharp features too with full red lips but her eyes are yellow... eh? It's as strange as the angelic boys' silver eyes. She slowly raises her glance and assesses all of us. "Adam" she looks to my right and the glances to my left "Eden." And then she glances at the rest of the group "boys." She gives a head dip. The twins speak in union, "step-mother" as the boys say "headmistresses." I'm gaping at the fact that, she can't be much into her twenties but is their step-mother. I also just managed to figure out which twin is which when they spoke, Adam has a smother voice where Edens is more rugged. 

"So she's the girl you just had to search for not matter the disciplinary action you faced for ditching school for what? 3 and a half months?" She quirks a brow in the twins direction. The twins seem so different in personality to their step-mother so maybe she's only a recent addition to the family? They're either intense, sly or bemused whereas this lady seems stern as fuck. Adam who's on my right tilts his lips up whilst gesturing to me. "Yes, we did step-mother and it was worth the trip" He sounds like a giddy kid whilst the other twin on my left chuckles sweeping his eyes over me. The woman purses her lips. 

Sebastian steps forward and says, "Headmistress, she is now mine so you mustn't even pluck a hair from her head." He points at me in such a grandiose way my eyebrows shoot up. He leans in to Adam and Edens mother and his voice drops violently low, "Do not touch her, I will kill you without a second thought." I'm shocked that's he's been protective of me but I don't think it's for any good reason other than to bite me or whatever the hell he said earlier. 

The headmistress looks a bit forlorn at Sebastian's threat. "I understand but I am simply curious and Sebastian don't be ridiculous you know that have no right to her." She tuts at him before continuing, "boys leave me now. I wish to talk to this young lady..." She breaks off and I supply "Alex" Nobody moves, not even a twitch. The headmistress sighs dramatically. She looks at the twins and says, "don't make me call your farther" and to Sebastion and the other two boys, "don't make me call your parents either." They all stare at me at once. Sebastian comes to tower over me and whispers in my ear, "say pineapple if your uncomfortable" and then he winks and saunters away. The bear boy growls and I swear it travels to my core. The twins exchange looks and give me a tight smile where the angelic yet soulless eyed boy grabs my shoulder and gives a gentle squeeze. Huh? I feel like I'm being left to the sharks. 

They all exit and I'm seriously at my upper most limit, I'm scared (probably should be shaking in my clogs though) and just confused and upset. The headmistress gestures to the couch and I inelegantly wobble over and plop my arse down. She stares at me slightly mortified. I just think of a few choice curse words in my head which helps me not say them out loud. She moves around her desk to sit across from me, "My sons and the other boys have been driven crazy due to your scent yet I cannot smell a thing," She says. She has her nose swinging up in the air like she's the shit around here but honestly, she just sounds super snobby. I don't know if that's the right word but I'm going with it anyway. I shuffle a bit and answer honestly. "I'm not sure, I died, stayed buried in a coffin and then the twins were there after a fuck truck of time passed." Her lips clench at the word fuck but she just stares at me for an uncomfortable amount of time.
