"Fuck", I shout as I check the time on my phone. Its my first day at East Wood high and last time I checked being late on the first day of school is one of the worst things that a person can do. I slip on some tight skinny jeans and thrown on a sweater as it is autumn and we'll there is a possible chance it could be cold outside, it's so different here compare to London because when I lived there I went to one of the best private schools in London and everyone had to wear uniforms there and here we can just wear whatever we want.
I grab my so called "school bag" more like a handbag but I'm secretly hopping that I'm not going to be the only girl who takes a hand bag to school. I grab my phone and wallet and put them into my bag.

I run down the stairs and as I get to the last one at the bottom I sit down and grab my Doc Martins and attempt to slip them on but after much trying I finally realise that I have to undo the laces and put them on that way. I walk into the kitchen and open the fridge door, since there is really nothing else that I can take with me I grab I protein bar and a bottle of water, I put them in my bag and I check my phone,"shit", I say way louder then I should have, "I'm actually swearing a lot today". I walk over to the front door, I pause for a second, checking if my parents are awake and since I hear no sound, I walk out the door closing an locking it behind me.

I pull up the garage door and walk in, "are you fucking kidding me, where the fuck is my car", i walk back to the front door, unlock it and walk in as I'm about to walk up the stairs to my parents bedroom I see their cars keys in a bowl on the table near the door, I stare at the keys for a while, then I grab them and walk out the door. I shut the door behind me and walk over to my parents new car. I get in and pull out of the drive way.

"I'm so dead", I say as I'm driving to school.
I park in the school parking lot and walk through East Wood high's double doors and what do you guess I'm stopped by a security guard, "come with me", he says. I reluctantly go with him, we come up to a door that has written in gold letters, 'Head Principle', the security guards open the door and ushes me in.

The head principle, a woman that doesn't look past 28 looks up at me, "sit down please", she says as she gestures to a seat. "Dawson? Keira Dawson?", The principle says.

"Yes miss", I say trying to be polite as possible.

The principle smiles and says, "please, call me jenny".

"Of course miss", I say still smiling.

Jenny looks me in the eye with raise eyebrows.

"Oh sorry. Jenny, right, ok", I say mumbling.

"Well after moving from England to America and having to leave all your friends behind, it must have been hard", she looks at me like its a question that has to be answered.

"Yeah. I guess it was", I say back, while thinking about London and having to leaving behind Lyra and Kate my two best friends.

The telephone on jenny desk rings loudly.
"Hello. Jeneen Winters. who's speaking?", She says with a smile that quickly turns into a frown.
"Keira. Is there something you forgot to ask and tell your parents this morning?"

"Oh know I'm so dead", I say under my breath. "Um maybe", I say as why trying to sound sincere.

"Yes, we'll I just got a phone call from a very distressed mother, wondering if you stole her car.", The principle said while trying to sound as nice as possible.
"Look I know how you feel I was 15 not to long ago, who know and trust me I've had a few car stealing moments my self.", she says with a smile.

I smile and laugh a bit, before she begins talking again.

"I'm not going to tell you what to do or get upset with you and I most certainly don't want to be your enemy. I want you to think as me as someone you can talk too and someone who you can think of as a friend and all the same I'm only 23 so I'm not that many years older than you.", she says with a kind smile. "we'll I'm guessing you should probably get to class and I'll call your parents."

I stand and walk towards the door, "thanks. Jenny. I ,um, we'll yeah thanks for, you know that.", I say and walk out the door.

I turn around and before I can move out of the way, a boy who's skating down the hall way runs into me and before I can balance my self I fall over onto the floor.

"Sorry sweetness, I didn't see you there", he says then grabs my hand and helps me up.

"Oh, um, no, it's fine, really", I say with a smile.

"Tough time with Miss Winters?"

"No, um I can to school late and she haut wanted to talk to me about some stuff"

"We'll it's sounds interesting. Did you steal someone's car or something?"

"Yeah, um, i did"

"Oh wow. Are you knew here?"

"Yeah, um, I just came here from England"

"Hmm. What year?"

"I'm in year 9"

"Oh cool. Well your still a senior?"

"Yeah, we'll um I should really get to class", I say as I start to walk backwards.

"We'll it was nice to meet you..... hey what's your name?"

"Keira. What's what's yours?"

"Tristan."

"We'll it was nice meeting you Tristan"

"We'll I'll see you around"

I tuck my hair behind my ear, smile, turn around and start to walk to class.
