Your breath quickened once again it felt as though the weight of worlds was crashing down on you again. Air was leaving your lungs faster than you could gain it back, your chest felt heavy and your throat felt dry. You gasped for air slowly sinking down to the ground, hugging yourself tightly you could feel tears start to spill from your eyes. Your safe space, you had made it in time, but at the moment it was doing little to calm you. You felt as though someone had their hand wrapped around your throat, squeezing the air from your lungs your body felt weak. Senior year of school seemed to be the worst year yet.

As soon as you turned eighteen your father, or rather stepfather just got worse, constantly badgering you to leave. Calling you a "Fat-ass" every time you would grab something to eat, he was always horrible, but it's just getting worse, he pounds the idea of "Men are all pigs" into your head 24/7. Not that you weren't already afraid of people, but you were also careful of men making sure not to get to close. Especially after him, you loved him, trusted him. You knew everything about him, and he knew everything about you.

Guess that's why you're in this situation now, panicking, unable to breathe, your face pale and stained with tears. You hated what he did to you, every second of it, every memory of it, you hated everything about him. You curled in on yourself hugging your knees, this wasn't so much of a panic attack anymore as it was you just sobbing at the edge of an old mountain.

Sucking in deep breaths through your tears your fingers brushed against your horribly cut hair, some strands long and poking out, others short and hiding in the tangles of your hair. You loved your hair; it was a place for you to hide your face when you were scared of people judging the way you looked. A place to hide away from eye contact, it was a beautiful (H/C), it used to be long, reaching your lower back. But now it was cut short, reaching only your jawline. The scraggly pieces of hair tickling the sides of your face. He cut it short, grabbing handfuls of your hair, he cut it short.

A messy breakup, it took you years to gather the courage, months of his abuse, eventually, you couldn't handle the panic attacks anymore, the sudden depression of going to school or on a date with him. Looking up the side of the mountain it was untouched, littered with trees and wildlife. You loved this place for its untouched feeling, calm, and filled with life the way the breeze caressed your face and wiped your tears away. Everything about it felt magical, you hated heights, everything about it scared you. The idea of falling the splattering against the ground.

You shook your head, ridding yourself of the thought, you slowly stood up your legs felt like jelly causing you to wobble slightly. You pushed your face into your (F/C) turtle neck sweater, you wanted to see what was at the top of the mountain, not like you could go back home anyway, you ditched school, your mom and stepfather would kill you if you went back now.

---

Walking up the side you followed animal pathed trails, admiring the beauty of it all, you loved it here away from all of humanity, away from people. You couldn't get enough of it, the way your sneakers dug into the dirt and kept pushing you onwards. You didn't care how late it was, the setting sun never seemed to bother you. You loved the stars anyway and seeing them away from all the people you knew, it was beautiful. Maybe you could live here, only coming down from the mountain to get food and clothes. You could live away from everyone, you wouldn't have to worry about your anxiety ever again, only when you would get a panic attack and maybe even that would be reduced.
