Dr. Manson sat in front of her quietly leafing through her file. With an overloud sigh he slowly sat the file down. He looked at her from up over the rim of his glasses with a snobby look of disgust. He obviously thought he was better than her, they all did.
“Kaia, Kaia, Kaia we’ve told you before fighting with the nurses will do you no good. They’re only trying to give you your medicine to make you better. Don’t you want to get better?”
Dr. Manson always used this line, as did the other doctors. They just tweaked it where needed and out it flew. But she was used to it, as were the other patients at Rural Hill insane asylum. It was there life, since of course society sought them unfit or the more commonly used term crazy. Life was hell in Rural Hill, if the guards weren’t beating you half to death, the nurses were choking you. If the nurses weren’t choking you the doctors were experimenting on you.
Rolling her eyes Kaia bluntly got up, and left the small grey room. As Kaia walked down the filthy, crowded hallway she listened to the insane filled screams. Sending her into a daydream of when she was growing up. Pretty house, loving family, and most importantly acceptance. But now she was here. She quickly blocked out the screams and memories, as Victorine came frantically running toward her.
Victorine was truly crazy, always coming up with new ideas, people or scenarios that didn’t exist. When Victorine finally caught up with her, she was ecstatic. Victorine was frantically waving her arms and looking behind her. Kaia looked behind Victorine wondering what she was seeing, perhaps today it was molten lava racing toward them or maybe even the fairy king who she had supposedly pissed off last week was back for revenge. But this time Kaia saw something. Rachael.
Rachael smiled with a smirk of full hate her eyes slowly made their way around the room lingering on Charles and Thomas until they finally landed on Kaia. The hate in her smirk quickly showed in her eyes as she stared at Kaia, and all that could pass through Kaia’s mind was, psycho bitch is back.
The guard briskly turned Rachael away and walked her off.
Kaia quickly grabbed Victorine’s arm and dragged her over to where Thomas and Charles were. As they ran over Kaia noticed the smell of fresh mint. Thomas secretly smacked on his gum which was absolutely forbidden.
Thomas was always breaking rules or trying to sneak out the only reason he was here was because he was a hypochondriac. Whereas Charles got thrown in here for being overly stupid and a danger to himself. A.K.A. a disgrace to his family. Although that didn’t matter with Kaia, and it didn’t seem Thomas cared much either.
Snapping out of her thoughts of longing for gum Kaia quickly looked around making sure the devil was nowhere to be seen.
“Did you see her?” Kaia hoarsely whispered out.
“See who?” Charles asked with a semi confused look.
“Rachael’s back and she didn’t look too happy to see all of us here.”
“Do you think she’ll go back after Wilhelmina?” Victorine asked finally entering the conversation.
As if on cue, Wilhelmina came walking over to them. She was blabbing on about the prices of bananas going down.
Wilhelmina was above crazy, generations of her family had been placed in asylum after asylum ending her up here. She believed she was a high class maiden, whose father owned a flourishing banana factory. She was always trying to sell them bananas.

This was now their job, protect Wilhelmina.

They all sat around in Kaia’s room waiting for Rachael to make the first move. Although as the hours passed Kaia began to wonder if Rachael had changed her target, perhaps she would not come. But that all changed when the room suddenly went dark.
Victorine screamed something about that blasted fairy kings vengeance.
Their breathing became timid, their body’s grew tense. Rachael had planned and succeeded, and what had they done…….Nothing.

The first gasp was heard from her left, that’s where Thomas had stood.
This time a scream came from Victorine, it was not the insane filled scream she had come to know. This one was worse it shook through her bones and sent her nerves on edge; it was a blood curdling scream.
And then again it was quiet and dark, two down and yet Kaia stood there dumbfounded, they would die.
She listened tuning her ears to as fine as they would go, she heard her own heavy breathing followed by two others most likely Charles and Wilhelmina. But also something else as she listened oh so carefully she noticed small short easy breaths, trying to stay quiet Rachael was here, but Kaia would not be fast enough.
Finally a noise coming from behind her, Charles, it was just a moan but it was pain filled, quick and then again silent. Now Kaia new she had failed. Rachael had won, Wilhelmina would be at Rachael’s mercy and she herself, Kaia Marie Gomez would die.

It was quick and sudden Kaia had barely felt a thing she had only felt a tug and heard a snap.
Opening her eyes Kaia was greeted with a warm bright light, and then Kaia knew she had died.
