Not who I thought you where: Adam Cole

There I was sitting on the mat doing my stretches. I had just had an intense workout and was trying to cool off. As I start to get up and collect my thing I bump into a hard chest and get
knocked on my ass.
“HEY WATCH WERE YOU’RE GOING”
as I look up at the figure, I notice his amazing blue eyes. He offers me his hand and helps me up with ease.
“Sorry about that I was looking at my phone.”
It took me a minute to process that he was talking to me, since I was lost in those blue eyes.
“Hey are you ok?”
I snap out of my trance and smile
“Yes, I am good, just caught me off guard.”
He looks at me and smiles.
“Nice shirt, are you any good at it.”
I am confused for a minute until I remember that I am wearing my league of legends shirt.
“Oh, I am a casual player, but I am pretty good at it. Why do you play?”
He nods and reply’s
“I started playing a while ago for a tournament and ended up liking the game very much”
I am puzzled because this guy is very fit and I feel like I have seen him before. He notices my silence.
“I am a wrestler and yes, I am a gamer. I also steam online.”
“oh, ok that is really cool. I’m Isabel, but my friends call me Izzy.”
“Adam Cole, you have probably heard of me”
When he tells me his name it come to me. This is the guy that Sarah is obsessed with I have heard of him. She makes me watch that show he is on. From what Sarah has told me he is known as the Panama City playboy. I know from experience you don’t get a name like that without reasonable cause. So I shake my head and look at him with a confused face.
“No sorry I haven’t watch wrestling since I was a kid”
Adam looks a little taken back like I hurt his ego.
“oh, well Izzy would you like to maybe get a drink and we can get to know each other better. Maybe talk some more about gaming.”
Did he just ask me out? Sarah is going to freak when I tell her. Maybe I should join him but why would a guy like him want to hang out with me. He is well known and I am a total geek who
reads and plays games.
“Sorry, but I am supposed to be at work in 30 minutes”
I know I lied a little, but as handsomely breath taking as Adam is, I will not fall for his playboy ways I have been down that road and do not want to get caught up in another heartbreaking
relationship. He pulls out his phone and hands it to me.
“ok well, give me your number and we can text and set up a meeting later”
Should I give him my number. Maybe I should give him Sarah’s number, then she can talk to him. I end up giving him my number. There is no way this guy is going to call me. I mean look at him. He is gorgeous and has those amazing blue eyes. He is way out of my league. I put my number and full name in his phone. He dials it to make sure it is me and I say goodbye to him knowing that I will never see him ever again. A couple days later I am streaming online playing league of legends when my I get a text
message. I look at my phone and see a message from unknown number. I ignore it. It is probably a spam text. I go back to my game, when I notice that my chat starts to go crazy with gifted subs and I have 500 people watching my stream. I look to see how that is possible. I have only ever had 200 people max watch my stream. When I get a message informing me that I am
being hosted by someone called thechugs. I shout out the person and then I get another text message. I check my phone and it is a message from Adam asking me if I wanted to join him on his stream. I text back and invite him to join my game. We end up streaming for a couple hours. After we get done, I decide to call him.
“Hey, thank you for the host. I had a lot of fun.”
He gets quiet and I think why is he being awkward maybe he does not want to talk to me.
“Hey, I know you are probably busy, but do you maybe want to hang out tomorrow?"
I cannot help but smile at how nervous he sounds. Maybe I had miss judged him and the persona he plays on TV is not who he really is.
“I would love to.”
I hear him release a breath I assume he was holding. We decide on a time and place and hang up. The day of our date come and I am getting ready to go meet Adam when my friend barges in and tackles me to the floor.
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME YOU KNOW ADAM COLE!!!!!!!!” I push her off me
and continue to get ready.
“I just meet him the other day and we played League of legends”
Sarah grabs my arms and shakes me
“Why didn’t you tell me!!!”
I honestly do not understand how she know and why she is upset with me.
“Sarah it was all so new and fast, and I never thought I was going to hear or see him again”
Sarah looks at me then pulls out her phone to show me her Instagram page.
“Babe I think you made quite an impression on him”
I looked at her puzzled
“Why do you think that?”
She takes my phone and goes on my social media account. There is following request on ever single one of my accounts. He even messaged Sarah on instagram to try and get a hold of me. I
am shocked at this new information. I then tell Sarah about how I rejected him when he asked me out to get a drink the other day. Sarah cannot believe that I did that.
“I know he has that playboy, cocky persona on tv, but he is a really kind and caring person.”
“I know that now and that is why I am going to go hang out with him today.”
Sarah pushes me one more time. Then, she helps me get ready for my date. At least I think it is a date. We decide to meet at a small locally owned restaurant. That way he does not get
noticed. I walk in and spot him already sitting at a booth in the back. I wave at him and he gets
up and gives me a hug.
“Hey sorry I am late I couldn’t find a place to park”
He nods and sits back down. We order some food and start talking and getting to know each other. I find out that I had the completely wrong impression of him. Sarah was right he is a very nice and caring person. He is also such a silly and nerdy guy. We finish our food and decide to go walk around the neighborhood. We are walking side by side and occasionally he gets behind
me to let people walk by us. At one point our hands brush against each other’s and I feel a
warm blush work it is way to my cheeks. We are about to cross the street when he grabs my hand and we end up holding hands without even thinking about it. We end up walking along the
beach as the sun starts to set. I stop to take in the beautiful sunset not noticing that Adam was not looking at the sunset but at me.
“Look how beautiful the sunset is” he replies
“Yeah it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen”
I turn and look at him and he is looking at me.
“You aren’t even looking”
“I know the sunset is beautiful, but you are more beautiful than the sunset”
I blush and cannot help but smile. We stay on the beach for a while and talk some more. Adam end up inviting me to one of his NXT shows and we set up another date. I shiver and Adam puts
his arm around me, and we start walking back to my car.
“ok well this is me I will text you later.”
I start to open the door to my car when Adam pulls me into his chest and brushes my hair out of my face. We stare into each other’s eyes and start to pull into each other. Our lips meet and I feel like a spark has just gone off I am no longer cold. His lips are so soft, and they fit so perfectly against mine. When we pull away, I feel an empty void and want his lips on me again. He puts his forehead on mine
“Sorry I couldn’t help myself, but ever since I saw you at the gym, I knew I had to talk to you. So, I purposely bumped into you, so I could talk to you”
I pull away and look up at him
” You know you could have just come up to me instead of pushing me”
“Yeah, but I didn’t know what to say” I giggle and kiss his cheek.
“Are you serious??? you are the Panama City Playboy where is all that cockiness you show on TV.” Adam looks at me.
“I thought you said you didn’t watch wresting”
You had been caught.
“Ok I lied, I knew exactly who you were when I met you, but I didn’t like the character you play. So, I pretended to not know you. I also might have looked you up on social media and watched
interviews you have done and concluded that you are not really a cocky playboy.” Adam laughs and hugs me again.
“I know there was a reason you turned me down that day at the gym.”
We both laugh and know that this is the start of something wonderful.
