A month passed and Jane is finally returning to work. She applied for leave after her breakup with Ethan and she had a good excuse because of her injury. She also used this opportunity to relax and unwind and learn how to move on.

During those 4 weeks, she kept herself busy. She went home to visit her parents and grandparents grave. Right after her parents died her maternal grandmother took her in. Her paternal grandparents as well as her maternal grandfather already passed away and the only one that's left of her, is her grandmother. Her grandmother died 3 years ago and she was left alone. It hit her hard. She was devastated. She felt so alone that she was depressed for quite some time. It didn't help that she was an only child. She felt like everyone left her.

Maybe that's why she fell in love with Ethan because he was there when she was grieving and he helped her go through it. From time to time she would visit her families grave and offer her prayers and flowers. She devoted her time on reading books and painting. When she was a child, she remembered she wanted to be a painter. But as she grew older her priorities changed. She wanted to be a doctor so she can heal her grandmother's disease but she never made it. Her grandmother died before she became a doctor. It was her greatest regret in life. That her grandmother never saw her in her white coat and license. But it was all in the past. She have to keep going in life.

So she applied for a painting class and spent her time learning while on vacation. Being busy helped her forget. She understands that moving on is not a one-time process but something you have to do every day. At first, she used to cry a lot especially when she remembered those happy times that they shared together. But as time goes by, she no longer thinks about the happy memories, she also remembered the times Ethan had hurt her intentionally or not. She remembered his bad habits and she wondered why she fell in love with him. She was still hurt but now it was bearable. She would often question herself; did she really love Ethan or she just find security in him along with familiarity that she mistook it for love. Was it really love? When you've grown accustomed to someone, he becomes your comfort zone. Jane wasn't a natural risk taker, so it is not surprising that she settled with someone she's familiar with and that is Ethan. They had been colleagues and good friend that's why starting a relationship with him is somewhat expected.

After settling things in her apartment, Jane slouch on the couch and opened the book that she bought on the bookstore. As she flips the page, a petal fell down. She picks it up and couldn't help but stare it. She was reminded of something or rather someone. The color of the petal looks very similar to the eyes of the man that held her. The man who is but a stranger, unknowingly gave her comfort and warm during the time when she badly needed it. She touched the petal and whispered

"Thank you for being there with me."
