I wake up and my dreams come flooding back to me instantly. I dreamt about actually dating Kageyama. It was strangely comforting to be his girlfriend. But I can't do that. I have to forget that I kissed him. It's for the best... right?

I get to school as quick as I can. I need to see him. I need to see how he reacts to seeing me again. That will definitely confirm what I should do. I see him in first period looking out the window. He somehow notices I walk in, and he just brushes me off like nothing. I try waving at him, but he turns to look back out the window. Damn. I guess I really don't mean anything to him. Well that solves it then. Kageyama still hates me.

In third period, we have to pair up for projects. I notice that every one has a partner except for me and Kageyama. Great. I walk over to him and sit down next to him. I refuse to talk to him first so I wait for him to say something.

"So what did you want to do the project over?" He asks. Is that seriously all he has to say after last night?

"Well I was thinking we could do it over ...." I go on explaining what we could do with the project. He seems to be listening and really focusing on the vision. He asks a few questions here and there, but it never really goes beyond that.

"Do you think we could work on it later today?" He asks.

"Sure, you wanna come to my place again?"

"Uh, yeah. You wanna walk there after practice today?"

"Yeah. I'll meet you outside the gym."

"Ok. See you then." He replies. Class ends and we walk to our next class but still don't talk to each other. It's really awkward between us. I really hope it doesn't fuck with the way we play today.

It fucked with the way we played today. He made perfect sets to everyone on the team except me. This kid needs to stop fucking around or else he's gonna ruin my only chance here. I had to keep adjusting my spike to his set. Wether I had to switch hands at the last minute to get it over the net or extend more than usual to reach the ball or barely tap it or else I'd miss it. His sets sucked ass when he was setting to me today, and he didn't apologize once. Practice finally ends and I get to go home.

I step outside the gym and then remember the project. Fuck. I wait for Kageyama to meet me outside the gym, saying goodbyes to everyone as they leave. Finally, he comes out.

"Ready to go?" I ask him.

"One second. Let me go get something." He then quickly runs into the school and after a few minutes he comes back out with 2 milk cartons. Of course it's milk. He runs back over to me and hands me one.

"What's this for?"

"It's a thank you gift."

"For what?"

"For tutoring me and letting me come over to work on the project."

"Oh, uh, you're welcome." I say while taking the milk from him. We both sip our milk while walking to my house. We make casual conversation about our days, but still neither of us dare to mention the kiss.

We get to my house, and I realize that we both smell like ass.

"If you want to shower, there's a guest bathroom at the end of that hall." I say while pointing in its direction.

"Ok, thanks." He says while grabbing his clothes and going to the bathroom. I grab a change of clothes and head to my bathroom too. We both shower quickly and meet in my room. I notice that he's in grey sweatpants and a black shirt. His wet hair makes him 10x more attractive. Why does someone so cold have to look so good? Damn it. Ok, I need to focus. I look back down to all of our project work on the ground. He sits down next to me and we get to work. We work for a while and it's around 9:00pm when we finish.

"We're finally done." I say while looking at him and smiling.

"Thank God! That was a major pain in the ass." I laugh at his remark and he smiles. Why is it that he's only nice to me when we're alone? "Spike?"

"Yeah Kageyama?"

"Do you mind calling me Kags?"

"I don't mind at all. But why do you want me to call you that?"

"I like it when people I like say it."

"You like me?" He looks a little flustered now.

"Uh well I just mean like people that I don't hate."

"Awww Kags, you don't hate me? How sweet." I say sarcastically.

"Oh shut up, you know what I meant." I laugh at him again. We both lean against the end of my bed staring at the ceiling.

"Hey, do you trust me?" I ask him catching him slightly off guard.

"Well you haven't given me a reason not to yet so I guess." I quickly stand up and reach for his hand to pull him up.

"Then come on. I know a place that I think you'll like." We put on shoes and I lead him out of my house. We're walking for a while. It's honestly a pretty far walk but it's so worth it when we get there. I notice that we're getting close.

"Close your eyes."

"I'm no-" I cut him off before he can finish.

"I said close them." He closes his eyes and I grab his hand. He walks closely behind me as I lead him to my favorite lookout spot. It's a little hill overlooking a massive flower garden. "Open."

He opens his eyes and takes in his surroundings in the dim light of the moon. "Wow, i-it's beautiful, really."

"Does it looks familiar yet?" I ask him.

"Uh kinda but I can't place it."

"I painted this. It's hanging in my room. I saw you eyeing it earlier, so I thought I'd just show you the real thing." I say as I sit down on the grassy hill. I look over to him still standing up with a look for pure shock on his face. "Well what are you doing? Sit down milk man." He quickly takes a seat next to me. Close.

"You seriously took me out here because I looked at your painting?"

"Did you not want me to?"

"No it's not that. It's just that no one has ever paid that much attention to me before and actually cared enough to do something like this."

"Well I'm here now so enjoy it Kags." He smiles as he looks down again. Since it's nighttime, I lay down in the grass and look up at the stars. "Lay down with me. We can stargaze for a while." He lays down next to me with his hands behind his head. We lay there for a while as he listens to me pointing out different constellations I see.

"You know Spike, you're really pretty when you're relaxing," he compliments me.

I sit up on my elbows, "I don't know if I'm supposed to be offended or grateful."

"Oh shit, sorry. It was supposed to be a compliment. I'm just really not good at giving them."

"It's ok. It was sweet in its own weird way." He smiles again and blushes a little bit as I yawn.

"If you're tired we can head back."

"Oh no, it's fine. I know you're enjoying it here."

He smiles and extends his arm out like he wants me to hug him. I get closer to him and lay my head on his chest hoping that's what he wanted me to do. I wrap my leg around his and put my arm around him and start to fall asleep. He puts his hand in my hair and starts playing with it. Before I drift off I hear him whisper, "You're special Spike. I don't know what it is about you, but you're different." He obviously didn't intend for me to hear it so I pretend that I'm already asleep. A few minutes later, he gets me up and we walk back to my house.

We get back and he gathers his stuff. "I had fun tonight."

"Me too," I reply.

"Thanks for showing me all the constellations and the flowers."

"Of course Kags, anytime." With that he heads out to go back to his house. I shut the door and press my back against it as I slide down.

What the fuck do I keep doing? I can't let myself fall for him. I need to stop talking to him for a little bit. This is bad for me. It's bad for him. It's bad for the team.
