For the next couple of weeks, Kageyama and I barely speak to each other. His sets to me are better now. He rarely ever misses my hand at this point. I know I said that I was going to stop talking to him for a while but I couldn't help myself. I tried talking to him multiple times but he just keeps dismissing me. It's getting really annoying. Especially after what I heard him say about me. I thought that maybe I was getting through to him. The reason we haven't truly talked in a while is because of him. It just makes me so mad. He's so hard to read and it's just frustrating.

At practice today, I notice he's a little more angry than usual. I don't think anyone else seems to notice because he's always pretty angry. But I know that this is different. After practice ends he asks me to stay behind again to practice more. I agree even though I'm mad at him.

"I want to try something new today," I say to him.

"Ok, do I need to set the ball a different way?"

"Not really. Just set it closer to the right side than usual." He does as I say and I jump high and hit the ball the exact way I wanted to. I hit it all the way to the left side of the court, still in bounds, but still super fast. It's close to the net, that way it's harder for blockers and receivers to hit.

"Woah. Where'd you learn how to do that?"

"I just saw it online and wanted to try it out. Believe it or not, that was my first time doing that." He stares at me looking shocked.

"Let's try some different tricks. I want to freak out Nekoma High in our upcoming practice match."

"Alright well what do you have in mind?" He explains a bunch of different quick attacks and delayed attacks that he thinks he can set up. I try them all and they all seem to work perfectly. This was definitely a much needed practice after everything that happened.

Practice ends and we go our separate ways.

The next day is a Saturday, but we still have morning practice. I arrive and set my bag down on the sidelines next to everyone else's.

"Alright, now that everyone is here, let's get started. We're gonna play a practice match. Blue team is Kageyama, Hinata, Tanaka, Spike, Asahi, and Ennoshita. Yellow team is Sugawara, Daichi, Tsukkishima, Tadashi, Narita, and Kinoshita. Nishinoya will play for both teams."

"Right!" We all shout in unison as we go to get our assigned jerseys. We all put them on and get lined up.

Soon enough, the game begins and I can feel the stress starting to wear off as I realize that my team is pretty freaking good. Considering that we've been working on all of our weak points for the past few weeks, we're doing really good right now. The first serve is Asahi's. He hits it over with ease and Daichi receives it. Suga sets the ball to Kinoshita. I jump up with Hinata and Tanaka to block the spike. We do it with ease and it hits the ground. We have the first point. Throughout the game, Kageyama and I try those crazy moves and we land them almost every single time. Daichi caught on to a couple of our moves and received them.

First set - 25:18
Second set - 24:26
Third set 25;21
We won!

I hug Hinata, and he looks like he's about to cry. Everyone high fives and practice ends.

"You did good out there Princess," I turn around to see Coach Ukai and Kiyoko.

"Yeah, good job Spike." Kiyoko says. That's the first time she's ever talked to me. I feel... GREAT! The prettiest girl in school complimented me. I start smiling like crazy. She soon walks away because Coach says me he needs to talk to me in private.

"Listen Kid, I see a lot of potential in you. I think you might just be Karasuno's next ace. That's why you'll be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's practice match against Nekoma."
