"Was anyone hurt?" Scott quickly asked, as he firmly held his phone to his ear.
"No," Lydia's voice answered back. "They don't know what it was but the ones who caught a glimpse of it say they might've been an animal."
"When did it happen?" Scott muttered, into his phone.
"About an hour ago. Stiles' dad left to check it out but when he got to the school, I heard him over the dispatch station. He said it looked like the school's front sign was lifted up from the front lawn and thrown right through the nearby wall, crashing in one of the hallways."
Scott turned around to look over at Theo and Liam, who were eavesdropping with their lycan ears. Their eyes were wide open as they stared back at him,
"I guess we won't have to worry about skipping school today," Theo gasped out.
Unlike before, this act of surprise wasn't an act for Theo. This was something he hadn't planned for. He guess this meant that the Dread Doctors pet project was on the verge of coming through. As desperate as this seemed to be getting for him, he might actually be able to use this to help him.
"Was anyone hurt?" Scott quickly asked.
"No, at least, I didn't hear anything about that. But Scott, the Sheriff is getting worried. He called me a few minutes ago, asking if I'd heard from Stiles."
Scott paused for a moment before letting out a heated sigh. "Lydia...Stiles is okay. But, it might not be a good idea to talk to him. At least for a while."
"What are you talking about, Scott?"
"Stiles, he...he killed Donovan."
He couldn't see Lydia widen her eyes from that, or notice Liam do the same.
"What? Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I didn't want to believe it either but it's true. He told me himself."
"Wait, when was this?"
"He came over to the clinic over an hour ago and that's when he told me."
"Over an hour ago? Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I think so. Why?"
"Because, that was around the time that I was resting by the Sheriff's office, and close to falling asleep when I felt this...hole suddenly open up in me. Scott, it hurt. Like it went straight to my chest."
"At my heart," both she and Liam said together.
Scott blinked as he caught Liam's eye. "How do you know that?"
Liam moved his right hand to pass over his chest. "Because I felt the same thing. The same pain. A little bit before you came back inside from talking with Stiles."
Theo blinked. He knew what this was and quickly went to place his own hand over his chest. "Yeah, I felt that same pain at my heart too."
Scott blinked his eyes rapidly. Lydia, Liam and Theo all felt the same thing? What did this mean?
"Scott," Lydia's voice called out from his phone. "What exactly happened when you talked to Stiles? What did you say? What did he say?"
Scott couldn't help but feel that Lydia sounded a little accusing. "There was a wrench. It was used to beat in Donovan's skull and still had his blood on it. I went and showed it to Stiles and asked if it was his. He said it was."
"I can't believe it," she said, sounding exasperated.
"And it's not just this Lydia. Stiles has been working on trying to make himself stronger. He thinks he can become powerful enough that he could go on and kill the Dread Doctors by himself."
