Chapter 1- Party Planning

Mom woke me up early to start helping here with decorations. Mom is having a New Year's party. She's inviting EVERYONE she knows almost.

"Mason? Get up, sis! We have to start planning and decorating!" Mom said. I sat up and looked at her.

"Really? Why can't you get dad to help you?" I asked wanting to go back to sleep. I'm a only child so mom only has me and dad.

"Because your dad is at work. My friend from New York is coming over to help also so you won't have to work as hard." She said standing up and walking out the door. I had no choice.

I got up and grabbed an outfit. I picked some skinny blue-jeans, black converses, and a black tank top. I then went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I then put my cloths on and blow dried my hair for a messy bun. I also did my makeup, just a quick natural look. Finally, I went downstairs.

"Okay, we have a lot of stuff to do and people wil start being here at 11:00 tonight. It's 9:45am so we have about 13 hours." Mom said and picked up the phone to talk someone. "Oh, and there's 2 waffles in the microwave for you."

I grabbed the waffles and checked them. They were still warm so I didn't have to warm them up. I put butter and syrup on them and started eating. After I finished, I put my plate in the sink and checked my phone. I had 2 unread messages.

Allie:

Hey, I can't go to your moms party!:( My mom is having me and my family fly to Illinois for the week. I'll txt u later!

Bailey:

Can't go to yo moms partay! Got plans with the fam! Love ya sista!

Great! My two best friend aren't even coming. I have known Allie and Bailey since 1st grade. We are practically sisters!

I then put my phone on the couch and started helping mom set up streamers and all the other party stuff. After about a hour, mom's friend showed up.

"TONYA!" Mrs. Winter said.

"JESSICA!" My mom said. They then hugged eachother super tight. I giggled at how young they were acting. I am 16 and my mom is 30.

"So, this is the young and beautiful Mason Jade you tell me about." Mrs. Winter said and hugged my, I then hugged back not knowing what to do really. Then, A old kinda looking guy walked in with 3 very handsome boys walking behind them. Woah! Honestly, I'm not into boys as much as everyone else. I mean, I think a couple guys are cute, but I haven't found... HIM, yet.

"Hello again, Mrs. Hale." The old looking guy said. He is Tonya's husband. His name is Jack Winter.

"Mason, this is Cole, Hunter and Brady, Cole, Hunter and Brady, this is Mason." Tonya said.

"Hello." I said and waved. Cole and Brady waved back. And Hunter grinned and winked at me. I started to blush.... BLUSH!? Oh, no, this is NOT happening.

"Oh My! After everything I got yestetday, I forgot the main things! Food! Drinks! Snacks!" My mom said.

"Mom, I can go and get the food." I said. She nodded and got a pen and a piece of paper. She then started writing stuff down:

Chips

Dip

Snack trays (3)

She kept writing more stuff down.

"Hey! How about you boys go with Mason. Get to know eachother!" Mrs. Winter said. Mom and Jack agreed. I then went upstairs, grabbed my purse and cane back down.

"Here you go." Mom said handing me the list. "Be safe." I hugged her and then we left.

Me and Cole sat in front and Hunter and Brady sat in back. It was really quiet most of the way.

"Soooo, how old are you?" Brady asked.

"16, what about you guys?"

"I'm 15." Brady said.

"16." Cole said.

"17." Hunter said.

"That's cool." I said. Finally, we made it to Wal-Mart.
