"You want me to do what?" you ask, blinking dumbly at your friends. Sitting across from you, settled nicely in the corner booth of your favorite cafe, your best friend Jay grins. "Oh, you heard me," she teases, her eyes lit up mischievously. You scoff. "Seriously?" you demand, your forehead creased. Beside you, your other best friend, Lily, giggles. "It'll be fun," she says. "For you, maybe!" you immediately protest, which sends her into the giggles again. You turn back to Jay, who is still grinning. "You seriously want me to do this?" you ask in disbelief. She eagerly nods. "You picked Dare," she points out. "And, I thought up a dare for you; that's what usually happens when you play Truth or Dare, hun." "Yeah," you agree, "but to kiss a total stranger, in public?" You stick your tongue out at her. Jay shrugs, unfazed. "You're making it harder than it has to be, sweetie," she teases. Lily giggles and nods in agreement. "All you have to do is kiss the next guy that comes through the door," she tells you, pointing to the cafe's front door. "Kiss-kiss, then leave." "We'll be waiting by the front door," Jay adds. "That simple, huh?" you say, scoffing; your friends nod. "Fine," you grumble, sighing. "Let's get this over with." Both Lily and Jay leave the booth, giggling like little kids instead of the young adults they are, and head to the front door. They stand next to the small revolving rack full of postcards and pretend to peruse its contents. With their absence from the booth, you feel your anxiety rise as you keep your eyes on the door.

Not a minute late, the door swings open, the bell above it jingling softly. The sound makes your eyes widen with sudden terror and you swear you can hear Jay smirking. A guy with light brown hair enters the building, his hands buried in the pockets of his hoodie. He takes a glance around the nearly empty cafe, before stepping closer to the counter to look at the menu. He looks to be around your age, which makes your anxiety drop a little; perhaps he'll be understanding after you ambush him. You hope, anyway. You slowly stand from your seat, carefully making your way towards the guy. Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Lily and Jay watching you with anticipation, which makes you want to run. But, your legs think otherwise and you inwardly cringe as you realize you are heading straight for the cute guy. And, he is cute. As you approach him, you can see the sharp jawline, the slender nose, the high and defined cheekbones. This guy is really attractive, and his lean stature only adds to his charm. Your thoughts are so preoccupied with studying him, you nearly run into him.

He catches you before the two of you can collide, his hands catching your arms. "Whoa," he says, smiling slightly. You nearly gasp when you see his eyes. Striking, almost mesmerizing. But, you blush instead. "Sorry," you murmur, momentarily averting your eyes. You can see Lily and Jay not so subtly encouraging you to make your move; you give them the slightest nod you can manage, before turning back to the mystery guy. "You okay?" he asks, smiling a little. For a split second that smile has you at a loss for words, and you think, Woah! "Not really," you answer, a plan forming in your head. Oh, please work! you think, silently. He raises an eyebrow in concern. "You aren't?" he asks, the corners of his mouth turned downward. You shake your head, fighting to keep the tremble out of your voice. "No," you reply. "But, I will be soon." I'm going to kill Jay and Lily! "Soon?" he asks with amusement. "And, why 'soon'?" "Because of this," you answer, and before you can lose your nerve, you lean towards him and press your lips to his. You can feel his entire body tense as you kiss him, but it doesn't register in your mind. All you can think is, His lips are so soft! You allow yourself to revel in the sensation for a second longer, before pulling away.

His eyes are still closed, and his lips are puckered, as if frozen. You giggle at how cute it makes him look, but, don't stay to elaborate the thought. You hurry towards your friends with an embarrassed grin, and the three of you run out the door. You're halfway down the block when Jay begs to stop. The three of you stop near a large oak tree that marks the entrance to the city's park, gasping and out of breath. Lily and Faye are laughing in between heaving gasps, and you can feel the heat of your blush on your neck. "I can't believe you actually did that!" Jay pants, grinning. You try to take a deep breath, but find it difficult. "You can't believe it?" you repeat. "I can't believe I did that to a complete stranger!" This only sends you and your friends into a fit laughter, which is fast becoming uncontrollable.

"Hey!"

The three of you turn around at the sudden call, and you feel your heart drop into your stomach. "It's him!" you exclaim, eyes wide. Jay and Lily just stare at you, both with a slightly afraid look on their faces. Your instinct is to run, but once again, your legs refuse to listen. You remain rooted to your spot, watching as he jogs closer. He stops when he's about three feet away from you. "Hey," he greets, looking quite serious. "Um, hi," you say, hesitantly. He suddenly sticks his hand out. "I'm Hunter," he introduces himself. You and your friends exchange confused glances. Is he seriously introducing himself? You give her a small shrug. "Hi, Hunter," you say slowly, forcing yourself to look at him. "I'm (Y/N). These are my friends, Lily and Jay." You gesture to the confused girls next to you. A small smile appears on Hunter's face. "Nice to meet you," he tells them, before turning back to you. "Right, then," he says. "Now that we've been properly introduced..." He trails off and before you can register his movement, he steps forward and cups your face in his hands.

His lips are on yours, soft like before. Your knees begin to shake as he presses your mouths together, his lips parted slightly. You gasp a little when you feel the tip of his tongue rake gently over your bottom lip, and your eyes close as your hands find his waist, clutching almost frantically at the material of his hoodie. You don't know how long the kiss goes on for, but when Hunter finally pulls away, you feel light-headed and dazed. Your eyes open and you see that he's smirking. You immediately blush, ignoring the delighted giggles coming from your friends. He continues to smirk as he pulls something from his pocket; it's a folded slip of paper. "You forgot this," he tells you, holding it out to you. Curiously, you take it from him. "What is it?" you ask.

He merely grins. "My phone number," he answers, with a wink. And, before you can say anything, he's already heading back to the cafe. You stare at the paper with his name and number on it, a bit stunned. It takes you a moment to gather your thoughts, but as you do, a smile slowly forms on your face, a single thought in your head.

Damn.
