Chapter One: The Beginning

"John Are You Sure about This?" A Six year old Girl asked her Twelve year old Brother
"Of Course Jess I am I'll come Back I promise"
John Left His Young Sister In the Allyway While he went to the store to Steal some Food for him and Jess He Was successful and about to Go back to Jess when a Lawman Stopped Him
"HEY KID!! Did You steal that food From That Store?" The lawman Cuffed John
"I'm Sorry But My sister and I Are alone"
"Yea Right Stop being a brat and keep Walking"
The Law man Walked John to The Police station Jess saw Everything from Her Spot around the corner The door to the station opened when The sheriff and Some more police men came To take John to The Gallows Everyone from the Town came to the gallows to watch the public hanging Of a Twelve year old boy Jess started crying Staring at her Brother.
As Jess was crying Three different looking men Came to see What everyone was doing in the town square when The Young Blue eyed Boy looked over and saw The Young girl crying as she's staring Up at the Gallows.
The blue eyed boy tapped The two men infront of him As they Turned "What is it Arthur?" The guy Who was dressed up nicely "That Girl Looks like she knows the boy who's upthere" The boy now known as Arthur walked up to the Young Girl "Little miss? Do you know that boy upthere?"
Jess Looked at The Young Man and nodded her head
" T-Thats my b-brother....He's all I have left Please Help Him" Jess Was crying harder as Arthur looked at Dutch and Hoesa
" I'm Arthur That's Dutch and Hosea We will Try to help the best we can"
Dutch walked Infront of the Gallows
" Hey What did that Boy do?"
The sheriff looked at Dutch
"This Boy Took food from the store and we have a law Saying If you Are caught stealing Than You will be hung and this boy knew about that Law!!"
Dutch was Pissed Because they were gonna hang a young boy Who From what That Young girl said was her only family left
"YOUR GONNA HANG A YOUNG BOY OVER SOME FOOD!!! THIS GIRL IS GONNA LOSE HER BROTHER OVER SOME BULLSHIT LAW!"
Everyone looked shocked that a random Bystander was Taking Up for Two Young Kids While Jess and John Looked at Dutch with Respect And Love Knowing that a random Stranger Who didnt know them Was Helping Them.
The Sheriff looked at Jess and Got on his knees and stared at her
" Honey Do you know this Boy Up Here?"
John looked at Jess While everyone looked at the Young girl staring at the sheriff with tears in her Brown Eyes Looking Like a lost Girl
"T-Thats my b-brother H-He My Parents died So He's all I have Mister Please Mister I'll Do anything Just please don't Turn me Family less Please Mister I'm begging you"
Jess fell on her knees Begging and Crying For the sheriff to let her Brother Go Everyone Stared at the young girl feeling pity for the young girl As the sheriff looked at Jess than back at John and Sighed
"Son This is your only Warning next time you get caught You will Swing Go take care of your sister"
The sheriff Took The rope off John's neck and walked off with the rest of the citizens Other than Jess,John and the Three men.
John Ran up to Jess and Picked her up and Rocked her while Comforting her
"I'm Here Jess I'm here I'm Sorry you had to see It I'm so sorry Baby sis Please Forgive me"
John said crying In his Sister's Hair and Ran his hand Into her hair while her head was in The crook of his Neck He looked at The Three men.
" Thank you Really Thank you I don't know if Jess would have been able to See that And she would have had an panic Attack if anything happened to me I'm John Marston Nice to meet you Three"
Dutch Looked at Jess and John and Pointed to Arthur
" It was Arthur who found her crying I'm Dutch This is Hosea and Arthur"
Jess Jumped from John's Arms and walked up to Arthur and Took out some money from her Pocket and handed it to him
" Here For Your help for Not Letting That man Kill my Brother"
Arthur looked at The money and Shook his head
" No Keep it Your brother and you need it more than me and These Two"
" B-But I wanted to thank you"
Dutch And Hosea laughed As Hosea Got on his knees
"Dutch and I Thought You and Your brother would wanna come Live with us?"
Jess Looked at John As John looked at Dutch
" Are you Sure?"
"Postive You two look to young to be on the streets by Yourselves"
John Looked at Jess And saw her ripped Up Clothes than looked at himself And sighed
" I Haven't been able to take care of my sister or myself But I dont wanna be a burden for you and Mister Hoesa"
Dutch And Hosea Laughed and shook their heads
" You won't we found Young Arthur at Your age John"
John nodded his head
" Will my sister be safe?"
"Absolutely 100 percent she will be safe"
John agreed As He and Jess Followed the three men Until they arrived at a camp Outside of town and Saw Two Women In the camp A Brown Haired Lady and another Lady They Introduced themselves as Susan Grimshaw and Bessie Matthews.
They Led Jess To a Tent That was infront of Arthur's And John into another tent on the other side of Arthur's.
         * Jess' Pov*
"Sweetie This Is your Tent The Other Tents are Arthur's, Dutch's, Hosea's, Mine and Bessie's and Of course Your Brother John's If You need anything just let us Know"
The Two lady left me to Get settled in the tent when a cute dog came up to me and Let me pet it Arthur knocked on the outside of the Tent
" You doing okay Princess?"
"Yes Mister Arthur I am"
Arthur Chuckled
"You dont have to call me Mister You can call me Brother if you want"
I nodded And smiled as I kept petting the dog
"That's Copper"
"Thank you again Arthur"
"No Problem Princess Just come And see me if you need anything I'm in the tent Next to you"
He Walked Out as I lied down And stared at my Tent Ceiling
   *Third Pov*
Arthur walked to the campfire after he left Jess Tent Dutch was talking to John
"Son you and Jess don't have to worry your safe now"
"Thanks Dutch"
John looks at Arthur
"Is she asleep?"
Arthur nods and walks to his tent after saying goodnight to everyone Bessie walked To Jess' Tent to say goodnight and Jess Is sleeping on her cot and Bessie Covers her up and kisses her forehead
"Good night Princess"
The next morning everyone is awake either than Jess Susan went to wake jess up when she walked into Jess's tent and saw Jess Crying and Picked her up
"Oh honey what's wrong?"
"n-nightmare"
Susan took jess to the campfire when everyone stopped and looked at the young girl crying
"She said she had a bad dream"
John Got up and hugged Jess and took her from Susan
"Jess what dream was it?"
"The s-same o-one"
John Hugged her tightly and held her while she cried
" He Wont Never hurt You Again I will kill him next Time!"
Dutch Came With a bowl of food for jess since she didn't eat The night before Jess looked at Dutch And  stared at the bowl of food As John put her down Next to Him And Dutch passed her the food
"Here You Go Sweetie"
Jess Ate some
" Thank You"
"Jess what do you say about learning how to read and write?"
"I will love that"
That Whole day Dutch Taught Jess how to read and write with the help of Arthur and Hosea.
