A few weeks later
Turns out the lords had stayed once again without my notice but maybe that was on purpose? But when the time came for them to leave, Bakugo was going with them.

"Are you sure you overheard right, Kiri? I mean, it's unlike Bakugo to just up and leave at the crack of dawn without a word. That's more me, but at least I left a note!" Kirishima and I had both woken up to the king being missing from our bed which was unusual since he normally acts as our wake up call.

"We'll find him before he leaves!" Kirishima had heard a few days back that the king was planning a big quest soon but we didn't think it would be now or even this week?! I was still half asleep so the dragon knight was dragging me by the hand through the halls with a lantern in the other one searching the available space for our missing lover.

"Bakugo?" There he stood facing away from us in the courtyard as the other two prepared horses "Hah?! You two dumbasses were meant to stay asleep!" He noticed my sleepy expression "go back to bed, you idiot!" I firmly stood my ground "No, you're going to tell me what's going on and you're going to tell me now!"

He was taken back by my tone and aggression towards him "look, you two have been through enough crap recently. I didn't want you to wake up during all this because it'll just remind us what happened when Arisu left...we almost lost you"

My hands cupped his cheeks comfortingly "but you didn't. I'm right here because you knew I was gone, I kept you kind of updated. But imagine you disappearing and neither of us would know anything except the fact you're gone and we don't know if you're ever coming home!"

My eyes shot upwards to halt the tears "and you can say that I'd be 'better with someone else' but that's not true, because honestly I'd just be more afraid...and I'm not scared with you and Kirishima"

My hand rubbed my arm as I looked away in embarrassment at my words "Hey, look at me" his fingers brought my chin to face him "I'm not going anywhere, it's just a dumb quest to create new alliances or something...was that whole meltdown thing because you're tired?"

His thumb brushed away my tears as Kirishima joined us immediately noticing my drooped ears "So what'd I miss? I was filling in Midoryia on what he needed to know about our feline spymaster here" the dragon knight nudged me gently before realising how sleep deprived I was "you said the nightmares had stopped?"

I was about to explain further when Bakugo's fingers started pulling apart my eye looking for any signs of distress. He pulled up my eyelid watching my pupils dilate slower than usual "how bad?!"

I pried his fingers away from my eyeball before he gouged me looking for more evidence "It was nothing" I was suddenly trapped in a group hug between the three of us "I'm coming back, and two dumbasses better be here when I come home! Both of you!"

He aggressively kissed Kirishima then myself as if we were still joking around, but we weren't. There was a high chance that this would be the last time we'd ever see Bakugo, last time we'd ever feel him breathe or even be in his presence!

"And the second I get back, how about you become immortal like us? So then you won't disappear in the blink of an eye" his hand patted my head "Yea, I'd like that" too much was going on right now to decide what was best for my future, I wanted nothing more than to be with them forever and it wouldn't hurt so much because I had no one else.

"Bakugo? It's time to go" the multi-haired Prince was stood by his horse with a stoic expression as I shoved something into Bakugo's hand "a little bit of witchcraft I learnt from the dryads. It's moonstone, throw it at any threat to temporarily blind them. It'll last long enough for you to escape" I could tell he wanted to refuse, then he must've seen something in the depths of my eyes telling him to accept the stone.

"Don't worry about me, I'll be back before you know it!" He brought his forehead half to mine and half to Kirishima's "you two idiots better take care of each other" I couldn't help but let a few tears slide down my cheeks again as he pulled away with pain in his heart.

Kirishima held me close to make sure I didn't dash after Bakugo due to having separation anxiety with both of the dragons "He's gonna be okay, kitty cat" Kirishima knew it was nothing personal and that I was more than happy to stay around just him, it was more the idea of someone in my life leaving or abandoning me again.

Bakugo took one last look at us before turning into a magnificent dragon and taking off into the night sky without a trace of ever being here. We both stood there in disbelief for a few moments "you wanna go back to bed, or stand here for a little while longer?"

I sniffed quietly and turned to go inside "I think I'm gonna head to bed?" Kirishima gave me my space before joining me under the covers wrapping himself around me "We're gonna be okay, you and me, it'll be so manly" his head rested between my ears as I listened to his heartbeat thanking whatever kept him here "I'm glad you're here, Kirishima"

It was a similar situation for both of us, Bakugo was our 'wall' and we were the 'toddlers' inside of the 'wall'. In another analogy - he was the 'play pen' and we were the 'puppies' inside. We had all the fun while he ran around keeping us safe, and now he was gone. And we were completely vulnerable to everything around us.
