Minwoo slumps on the chair and looks up at Kate, his tears falling down on his cheeks.
"Kate, tell me what to do." He says, his voice hoarse, "I don't know what to do." He utters biting his lower lip.
Kate's eyebrows quiver at the center of her forehead, she purses her lips and ends up biting them. With her tears threatening to fall she bends on her knees and looks at Minwoo's tortured face.
"Don't break her heart, Minwoo." She says while a tear escapes her eyes. She blinks and looks up, breathing heavily.
Minwoo reaches out and wipes the tears on her cheeks, Kate looks at him and shakes her head, her tears continuously falling from her eyes.
Minwoo's hand falls down on Kate's shoulder, he squeezes them and pulls, Kate continuously shakes her head, but Minwoo envelopes her in his embrace. He wraps his arms around Kate tightly, leaning his head on hers, inhaling her scent, his tears falling over her shoulders. Kate looks up and encircles her arms around Minwoo, tightly.
"Break our hearts then?" Minwoo whispers on her ears, his voice breaking.
Kate closes her eyes, her face screwing up in pain. She embraces Minwoo tighter.
"I love you." Minwoo says, holding Kate tightly he couldn't almost breathe, "I love you, Kate." He turns his head and kisses Kate's cheeks.
Kate breaks away from the embrace and looks at Minwoo's face, it was wet from all the tears he has shed, just like hers is, but his eyes were clear with all the love reflecting on them.
"And I, you." Kate mutters, her voice finally breaking. She raises her hand to wipe Minwoo's tears, he reaches out to hold her hand.
Smiling, Minwoo leans and gives Kate a kiss. She closes her eyes and welcomes it, then after a moment, both breaks away.
Kate takes a step back, Minwoo holds onto her hand and shakes his head, "Please" he says, his eyes pleading.
Kate gives him a smile, her tears continuously falling, like an endless waterfall...
Minwoo's eyebrows quiver, he bites his lower lip and nods.
He lets go of Kate's hand.
"I love you." Minwoo says as he takes a step back.
Kate raises her hand on her chest and nods, her face screwing up again.
"I love you, Kate. I love you always." Minwoo says as he continuously takes a step away from her.
Kate nods continuously, her tears falling and falling and falling.
Minwoo stops by the door, his hand reaching out to the knob. He bows his head and then looks up, giving one final look at the face of the woman he loves.
Then nodding, he faces the door. He turns the knob.
"I love you, Minwoo. Always. Forever. Never Never." Kate says, her voice clear.
Minwoo screws his face and bites his lip.
His heart felt like it was going to stop.
He was surely going to die.
He couldn't breathe.
He turns the doorknob.
"Don't look back, Minwoo." Kate says, her voice quivering.
Minwoo nods, opens the door and then walks out.
The door closes behind him.
Leaning on the bannister infront of him, Minwoo looks outside the beautiful trees surrounding their apartment. The leaves have turned a beautiful color, Autumn has finally come.
He breathes in heavily, and for a moment stays rooted to his spot.
Then, he turns.
And leaves.
Inside the apartment, Kate leans on the door, listening for his footsteps.
They disappear after a few moments.
Kate leans her head on the door, looking up on the ceiling, her tears still not stopping from falling.
"Goodbye, my love."
Goodbye.
