Ushijima Wakatoshi x Reader

"Phew! Today is very warm, despite being at the beach." Miya wipes sweat off of her forehead and drinks water from the cooler.

"Yep! We should go in the water soon, I might pass out." Sakura pants and unties her hair.

"Alright ladies, bring it in!" I call to the rest of the team. It's only been 1 hour but so far we've played two 5v5 matches and breaking a sweat.

"Let's go in the water for a bit?" I suggest and the girls jump in excitement.

"I just got this cute bikini and I cannot wait to show all the pretty boys here!" Yui and the rest of the second years giggle together.

We swim in the water for a few hours, some of up getting swept away by the waves.

"Shimizu-chan?" A voice shouts from a few meters behind me, on the beach sand.

I turn around to see a chipper and tall man, bouncing and flailing his long arms in the air.

"Sheemeezoooooo-chaaaaann!!" He yells and runs to me.

I squint to try to get a better look at him.

"Yumi do you know this guy?" Sakura taps my shoulder and I nod 'no'.

Appearance-wise, he seems to have a permanent smug or grin on his face, or both, I can't tell. His bright red hair stands up like a maniac magician from HxH and his tall figure makes him stand out.

"Wait isn't that-" Shizuku also squints and everyone else turns around in curiosity. "Satori-senpai?!"

Tendo Satori inches closer to me and I stiffen up.

"Guys let's get out of here! It's gonna be so intense and awkward-" Shizuku pulls the rest of the team away while Sakura and Miya stay a few meters behind me.

"Can I help you?" I ask with a monotone voice.

"Hah.. No need to be so harsh Yumi-chan~"

"I'm here to spend time with my team, Satori. Is there anything you need? We need to get back before 6pm." I unintentionally come off as rude towards Satori.

"Oh sorry we didn't know you were on limited time." Satori apologizes and I feel a small feeling of guilt at the back of my throat.

Wait, "we"?

"It's just that you and your team were playing volleyball and Ushijima wanted to play with you too, y'know, co-ed volleyball match?" Satori points back at shore where a group of high schoolers are stretching and playing some volleyball.

"What??? A chance to play alongside all those boys?!" The second years squeal in excitement. "Yes please Yumi-senpai!!"

They start shaking my shoulders and pleading with me. Satori chuckles while watching and the third years look at me with anxious faces.

My ears start to pound. My knees buckle and my breathing is hitched. A cold, dark feeling starts to grow in my stomach, and I stumble.

"Yumi-chan!" Sakura and Miya support me and I try to breathe. "Are you alright?"

". . . Yeah, I'll be okay." I look at the concerned Satori who has puppy eyes. Who is this man and why do I feel obligated towards him?

"You guys can go ahead and play with the team. I'll rest under the umbrellas. Maybe I overdid it earlier when playing 5v5." I nervously chuckle and the happy underclassmen follow Satori who has a confused and thinking face on.
