That One, Odd Page

He stares at me, with fire in his eyes. "Get lost..." I mumbled to him, why did I have to say that? Was that even necessary...?

(Flashback)
The name's Luna, I'm a 12 year old girl who does not do much in my daily life except to read. I have quite an imagination they say, and I believe so. I've been introduced to fantasy stories ever since diapers, my room has been filled with books that it basically looks like a library, It's sad with all the books I have, no one wanted to read with me. Good thing I found a friend before Mom even dare put some of my books in a garage sale.

His name is Daniel, the new neighbor's kid who is 2 years older than me. He didn't seem interested in befriending people around the neighborhood since he's mostly surrounded by younger kids, That's what we had in common before we even know each other, we have no friends.

Introduced myself to him, with a smile on my face "Hey, Danny right?" He chuckled "Uhm It's actually Daniel". "Can I call you Danny?" I asked, hoping this conversation goes somewhere "Yeah, I don't mind" he smiled. As we started talking, we both realized we're into reading and I actually had him over to my place to read some books at my room. He was amazed by just looking at it, a plain white wall with hints of purple accents for aesthetic purposes and a couple of book shelves here and there. "It's like a library!" He said, I nod from his statement. It's not the first time I heard that, I hear it everytime when there are family gatherings.

I sat on the comfy rug filled with pillows near the book shelves and patted the ground offering him a seat near me. As he sits to the ground feeling comfortable, he took out my favorite book and started observing it's book cover. "That's my favorite, you might like that one" he looks at me with the same smile as earlier and replied, "Yeah, I like the cover already"

After we have finished reading bunch of books, it's night time already. I looked at him and said "Boy, time flies fast. Your parents might want you home now." He shook his head "One more book, and I'll go home" even if I know we can just read together again tomorrow, I want to read a new book but I'm positive Mom won't let me buy a new one unless I sell some of my books away for more room to replace them. "Okay.." I got up and asked him to help me find a book somewhere in the attic, he asked "You have more books up there?" I nodded, there were all my old books went when I refused to give them away back then.

Once we got up the attic we opened every box labeled with my name, searching for interesting books while I smile while I read each of the books' title, remembering the stories and amazing plots of each and every one of them "Hey look, this has no fancy book covers like the other ones" Daniel said as he examines a blue-ish purple book with fancy white borders and little illustrations of the stars. "That's weird, I don't remember having that.." I stated, it's true, It's impossible to forget about one of my books, right? I have listed every book I have owned and always check if I finished reading it. I'm definitely sure I never had this book in my hands before. "This must be your parent's book, then?" I stare at the mysterious book, unsure if it's theirs, but what is it doing on a box with my name on it? Is it a mixup? Maybe it's a gift they plan to give me soon? But if it is a gift, it can't just lay here, they'll take good care of it in their room. I need to know what this is doing here.

"Let's read it, maybe you might remember when we read it together" Daniel explained, that does make sense, I might actually have forgotten about it. I nodded "Alright" as Danny opens the book, there is nothing else on the page, no title, no authors mentioned, except this one verse. As we both examine this page we recited this verse out loud..

"A shine in the light, I found my way home
And through all of that, I've change my whole"

Then...

A dark fog filled up the attic, "DANIEL?!" I shouted, It's far too dark, I can't see him..

"LUNA!"

I hear him! I walk forward.. "Stay where you are, I'll come to you! Keep talking!" As I walk, I slowly loose balance and felt dizzy, "what is this? My eardrums hurt.. I... I need to close my eyes.."

And as I do.. I hear someone else collapse

"D-daniel...?" I called with a faint and weak voice.

I then close my eyes.
