In the beginning, there was peace, security, and prosperity. The kingdom of Dolor had nothing to fear. In the far reaches of the Earth, it stood, gleaming, proud, and full of happiness.
Dolor, however, was not the only kingdom that was built in the lands of Fugienda. Far north stood the Peaks of Darkness, an unforsaken and unforgiving land where the shadows and the shadow people dwelled.
To the far south, stood Aligor, a land of vast and seemingly endless land of sand and home to the neutral Aligorians, creatures of scale and sand, bound by a curse that keeps them dry and hot.
This was Fugienda, the great land of kings, riches, and of course, all types of magics. How I wish I could write such a fine and exotic tale of peace and prosperity, but unfortunately, this is no such tale....

It begins on a dark and windy night...

The winds were restless. They carried dust storms from the Great sandy wastes and into the doors and windows of the inhabitants of Dolor. The people who lived there knew this as an omen, an omen of a great evil that was to come. Little did they know, however, that the great evil would be dressed in elegant robes and a large hood that darkened his already dark face, the winds whipped his cloak around, but he took no notice, his mind was set on his own devices.

High atop the tallest peak of the palace, sat the benevolent King and Queen Emnar and Iza, they were beloved rulers. Emnar had fought in the great war of the sorcerers, and Iza was as beautiful as she was kind.

Both had tried for many years to have a child of their own, to keep their line strong, but had no prevalence. Emnar, being at the age that he was at, feared they would never succeed.

They both sat adjacent to the fire place, Emnar polishing his sword, Iza, hand in his, reading her favorite novel "Blood Born and War" This was the happiest they have been in a long time.

"If it wasn't so stormy...I'd offer a little 'courting' in the garden." She chuckled and winked at him. Emnar chuckled with her, "My dear, you do know how to seduce a man." He smiled. Iza's smile dropped, "we've been married for ten years...why hasn't it happened?" Iza asked slowly and sadly, "Don't worry my love...it will happen, and our beautiful child will rule as greatly as us." He smiled at her, but deep down he felt the same sadness as her. "What would I ever do without you?" Iza smiled, Emnar squeezed her hand, "You'll always have me, till death do us part." He smiled.

The winds changed suddenly, the sheer force blew open a nearby window and blew out the fire. Emnar jumped up to close the window, but instead caught glimpse of a hooded figure approaching the palace doors.

With one swift stroke of his hand, he blew open the doors with such force the whole palace shuddered.

Emnar raced to the stair case, sword in hand, and Iza trailing close behind him, night gown flowing like melted silk behind her.

They reached the great hall and threw the doors open just in time to see the hooded figure blow two guards aside with a swipe of both hands. His robe now a deep shade of red, the light now revealed his face, he had bright, long red hair that fell neatly down on his shoulders, his dark red eyes brought out the scar that streaked down his left eye.

The look was all too familiar to Emnar, "Flammar!" He raised his sword and brought Iza behind him to protect her. "Emnar, dear brother, it's been too long." Flammar's voice was deep and smooth, yet hoarse and rough, like a tiger purring in his throat, yet growling, trying to escape, his English accent further brought that out.

Flammar was very seductive, his very presence was alluring, anyone around him was instantly drawn to his charms. Such as the reason he was banished from Fugienda, and his practice of black magics and his infatuation with the necromancers of the dark peaks.
