Chapter 1 :

It was always those eye that bore right into me, that made me feel naked, I could never be scared of them though. Looking into them just made me feel warm and safe like nothing could possibly harm me, the way they caressed me. It was so hard not to get caught up in them, they were such an electric blue that it would captured your soul and put you into a never ending trance. I was so distracted by the eyes I barely noticed the owner of the eyes I couldn't make out his features it was as if the eyes were the only thing that I could focus on, as he approached singing in an angelic voice "Hey there little red riding hood, you sure are looking good" barely audible he finished with "You're everything a big bad wolf could want." as he vanished leaving me cold as I returned to the real world and the blaring sound of my alarm clock.

It wasn't rare that I had that dream but the actual face and the song was new and oh the way he sang was so beautiful it melted me on the inside.

I hesitated to get out of the warm toasty bed that held me captive knowing that leaving the bed would be like walking on ice since my mom had replaced my fluffy why carpet with a new maple wood floor. I quickly jumped out the bed grabbed a towel and my clothes and ran to the bathroom and jumped into the shower after stripping off my panda pajamies. The hot water brought my body relief as it hit my cold bare skin, I could've stayed there forever, but sadly I couldn't it was Monday and I had "Another wonderful day of school!" As my teacher Ms. Smith would say. I stepped out the shower and put on my new sweater I bought with my best friend Sarah and some black skinny jeans with my furry boots. I looked at my red hair in the mirror trying to decide what exactly I was going to do with it. I brushed it back in a smooth pony tail and checked on my mother before racing out door when I noticed it was already 6:50 and school started at 7:05. I peeked in my mothers room to check in on her.I love my mother with all my heart, no one can love me more than my mother can. When my dad left her for another woman she would never let me see her cry, she kept a smile on her face even though all she wanted to do was roll up in a big ball and cry. One day when I went to go say good nite to her she didn't respond she just sat there looking straight ahead I kept calling her name then calling her name became screaming her name until the neighbors came over to see what was wrong. They called an ambulance that took her away from me. Later the doctor told us that the seizure was caused by stress and depression caused by the divorce. I blamed it all on my father he had done this to her. luckily the seizures ceased, but she's still suffering from depression, I promised her that I would always be here for her never leave her like father did, she just said in a hoarse voice "everyone leaves after a while". I hate seeing her like that, it seems she's only in peace when she's sleeping, although she has gotten better lately I sometimes catch her smiling so guess we're making progress.

Winter had finally showed his face as I stepped outside to snowflakes dancing their traditional dance of Winter. I loved the snow, I remember the snowmen I would make with my father as a child, the great joy it brought me then, now it was nothing but white powder that falls every winter since my father believes that some gold digging woman loves him more than my mother ever did. A short tune interrupted my reminisce I looked at my phone to see Sarah's name. Sarah was my best friend which I really don't know how, She was always so preppy, I'm so dull were nearly opposites. She has the perfect body, and I'm fighting love handles. She has pretty blue eyes and I have dull grey eyes. If it wasn't for Sarah I would be one of the schools outcast. I just don't fit in, I could never get a boy to look twice at me. The only boyfriend I ever had used me for sex and once he had that he left me for some whore that could do tricks. "Have you looked outside, it's snowing!" Sarah shrieked into the phone before I could even get a hey out "I hope it snows for the Winter Ball, speaking of Winter Ball have you got a ticket yet?" I cringed at the question knowing wouldn't love my answer. "no, I'm not going, love" "why not?!" I could hear the disappointment in her voice she had been planning this event ever since the first week of school and she wanted to go all out since we were seniors this year.
