Sakura's POV

When I pulled into the campus parking lot I saw Sasuke waiting for me. " I'm sure people were giving you weird looks for just standing there. Did you eat yet?" He shook his head no. "Good. Eat this." I shoved some food into his hands. "Is there something wrong?" It killed me that I couldn't talk about that with Sasuke. " No, sorry." I mumbled as I pulled the front campus doors open. While Sasuke and I were exploring I heard someone calling my name. "Haruno!" The voice seemed familiar so I turned to the direction it was coming from. "Oh, Shikamaru. Are you okay?" He folded over his knees while trying to catch his breath. "I was wondering if I could eat with you." He eyes Sasuke beside me. "Oh, is he why you ran off in-," I covered his mouth and gave him a look that said he needed to stop talking. He put his hands up, surrendering. I backed away and flashed them both an innocent smile. "Sasuke, Shikamaru. Shikamaru, Sasuke." They shook hands and I could feel the skepticism radiating off of Sasuke. "What about the jackass, um I mean Naruto?" I hadn't meant to call him a jackass in front of Shikamaru. He smirked.

"He has another class today so I'm all alone." The three of us continued roaming around campus until we found a nice place to sit and eat. I could feel Shikamaru staring at me. He leaned over and whispered in my ear," You have blood on your arm." I was thankful that he didn't say anything out loud. Sasuke would've actually started answering questions. I quickly wiped it off. "What are you two whispering about over there?" Sasuke was looking at us with half of the sub I got him sticking out of his mouth. "Nothing," we both said as Shikamaru backed away from me. Sasuke didn't get to ask anything because Naruto appeared out of no where. "Shika what are you doing sitting so close to trash." I could feel a blood vessel bulge on my forehead as he said those words. "Naruto chill. She's actually a very nice person." Shikamaru told him as he put a few chips in his mouth. He responded with a 'hmph' while Sasuke went to take a leak.

"Hey trash," I shot him a murderous look," forget it." Shikamaru kept looking between me and Naruto, somehow not breaking his neck. When Sasuke came back I grabbed his arm and walked away from Shikamaru and the jackass. "Bye Shikamaru!" He just waved me off probably taking note that Naruto had pissed me off yet again. "How do you know them?" Sasuke asked as we had went back into the building. "Art. My schedule got mixed up." He grunted in response. Ino and I had finally finished our classes so we could finally go home. I wish this school year will end already.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two months into the first semester, I wasn't able to do a single thing on the big project that needed to be done in Art. It's all because that jackass won't cooperate with me. When ever he would even get within ten feet of me, he would go the other way or wait until I was out of sight. I had brought it up to Shikamaru but he didn't have an answer for me. All he said was that he'd keep talking to Naruto about it. "Sakura!" Ino's voice brought me back a little too late. I had ran into a pole. "Are you okay? Stop spacing out while walking." Ino lectured me while I would occasionally zone out. I looked at my phone. 10:48. "Guys my class is about to start. Bye!" I rushed off, desperately wanting to get away from Ino. I collided with something hard. Another pole? "Sorry, Haruno. I didn't know you were behind me." Shikamaru offered his hand to help me up and I took it. He smiled and I immediately thought that he was an angel. The jackass brought my out of my fantasy. "You're both in the way." Shikamaru pulled me close to him before Naruto brushed by me with his sharp shoulder.

"He's not having a good day today." I wanted to retort and say that it never seems like he has good days but the genuine concern on Shikamaru's face made the comment go away. I mumbled a thank you and went into the class to find my usual spot, only to find the jackass next to it. I turned back to Shikamaru and he looked as surprised as I was. I sat down and Shikamaru sat next to me as well. It felt like I was in the middle of a man sandwich. "Today you'll be working in a group of three. Your assignment is to come up with something abstract but it has to have something you're interested in it. You'll have to make it correspond with the others' things as well. Now get started." Naruto didn't talk to me but he did start working on the project. "What are going to draw, Haruno." Shikamaru's hands were busy making artistic strokes. I had noticed that he only calls me by my last name. "The brain." He stopped while I started. "Why the brain?" I thought about what I could tell him without actually telling him what I meant. "The brain is like the powerhouse of the body. It's complex and very fragile. One wrong thing could mess up your every day body functions. At one point it'll slowly deteriorate. I just think it's interesting."

I could tell that he knew there was a deeper meaning to what I said. I stopped staring a him, scared he would be able to figure it out. "The eyes are far more interesting," Naruto said out of nowhere. "The eyes witness everything around you while the brain only receives this information. With your eyes you can see a person's pain and sorrow. You can also see through people and gather what their real intentions are." He still didn't look at me but I was surprised that he was even talking to me. It felt like there was something else he wanted to say but decided against it. "I see," I responded.

When took our combined project to the professor. "Sakura can I see you for a second?" Shikamaru flashed me a smile before she pulled me to the side. "You can go." It took me a minute to realize what she was talking about. It's time to take my meds already? I went back to my seat to grab my bag. "Where are you going?" Shikamaru asked. "Don't worry, I'll be back." I flashed him a smile while ignoring whatever Naruto was about to say. When I reach the restroom I felt a light little light headed. Tsunade had gave me a stronger dose and more medication but I was on my last one. I guess I've been too busy on my studies to notice. It would take too long if I got them from the pharmacy. I decided later I would go to the hospital for an emergency supply. By the time I went back class was already over. I sighed and turned to walk away from the room when I felt someone latch onto my wrist. I turned back to look at who it was, a little frightened. Huh? "When do you want to start working together?"
