" l still remember
Third of December
Me in your sweater
You said it looked better ,,It was cold and wet that day. Volleyball practice was cancelled, but that didn't stop them of course—they just did their own practice by the gym. It wasn't special by itself; nothing out of the ordinary, Kageyama set the ball and Hinata spiked it. The same thing they'd always done.
"Hey dumbass," Kageyama's deep voice seemed to echo in the silence around them, effectively getting Hinata's attention as he landed and turned towards his best friend. "What's the time?"
Hinata ran over to where their bags lay against a tree, "Si-" he took a double take at his phone, "-Six thirty!?" he shouted, taking a few seconds before stuffing the metal back in his bag and picking it and Kageyama's bag up, "We need to go!" He said, stomping over to where Kageyama was spinning the volleyball in his hands.
Kageyama looked up at him, "But we usually stay later?" He questioned, taking his bag from where Hinata held it out to him.
"Yeah, but I'm supposed to be taking care of Natsu tonight!" He replied, now a few steps ahead of the setter.
He could practically feel Kageyama's eye roll as he muttered 'idiot' under his breath. Adjusting the strap of his bag, Kageyama soon caught up to Hinata, who was now practically running home while failing miserably to drag his bike with him.
Then suddenly, he stopped. "Flip flop!" He said, causing Kageyama to turn his head and stare with a confused look on his face. Hinata realised what he'd done after a second, face somehow turning redder than it already was (thanks to an intense practise and the cold air of December). "I left my jacket at school..." he muttered, unconsciously lifting his hand to rub his arm and looking away, embarrassed at his foolishness.
Kageyama just rolled his eyes. "I thought something was actually wrong." He said, pulling his bag of his shoulder and placing it by Hinata's in the bike's basket.
"Kageyama what are you-"
"Here." He said, holding out his sweater that he had on moments ago, "You have further to go so take it."
Hinata stared. "But-"
"Are you cold or not, dumbass?" He pushed his arm out further towards Hinata, "Take. The. Sweater."
Hinata looked down at the sweater, then back up at Kageyama, "Okay."
He pulled it on. The sleeves came halfway down his fingers, and the sweater itself only came a little bit more lower than his own would.
"Give it back next week."
Oh. Right. It was a Friday. He got to keep it through the weekend. "Are you sure? I mean, it's yours so..."
"Yes idiot," Kageyama replied. "It looks better on you anyways." He added, glancing at Hinata before turning a corner, "Bye."
Hinata just watched as he left, eyes trained on his figure all the way up to the point where he turned another corner.
His heart felt fuzzy.
" On me, than it did you
Only if you knew
How much I liked you ,,The next Monday he came to school and found his jacket in the lost and found box before handing Kageyama back his sweater.
The next week he was going to tell him about the fuzziness, the racing in his heart every time they looked at each other but-
" But I watch your eyes, as she ,,
Right before he came to see him for lunch by the meet-up-spot (a tree) he noticed how Kageyama wasn't staring at the grass like usual, thinking about ways to improve their game tactics. No, he was staring over to the side. Hinata followed his gaze to Yachi, walking by to probably see one of her other friends or maybe Yamaguchi if he isn't with Tsukishima.
