Forever (Ray x reader ) {Promised Neverland}

Ch. 1

"Hey! Hey! Get up! You're going to miss Mom sing us goodnight!"

"E-eh?!" I let out a gasp of air. Luckily it was just another dumb nightmare.

             This same nightmare happens almost every night. I can only make up a boys voice, who in the hell is telling me to get up in that dream? It scares that crap out of me that's for sure.

"Oi"

"Huh?" I respond to Ray in confusion

Ray is my good friend, and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world!
Ray has always been there for me. I think of him as a friend..though I don't exactly know what he thinks of me. We would only talk if his friends, Emma , and Norman where sick or didn't feel like playing. Same goes for my few friends that already got adopted. But the times we did spend together where some of the best times of my life. He probably only sees me as an mutal or a back up friend. Things at this orphanage go pretty slow, so who knows if even cares about me as much as I care for him. I tend to trust people a bit to easily and quickly.

"Y-yes Ray? Sorry...I had another nightmare. I should get up....." I say to Ray.

I got up from my bed and rubbed my eyes. I should really sleep more....damn it. Ray was dusting off his shirt and started into my eyes. I could never read his thoughts.

"The same nightmare huh....wow I feel bad for you." Ray giggles slightly.

He knows how much i hate when people pity me. Ever since I was little I was either really serious or a total cry baby, I had major mood swings. So people would always pity me. I find it quite annoying. That smug bastard!

"Ugh! Go away I don't need your pity!" I respond to him slightly giggling but I was still mostly annoyed.

I was lying. I didn't want Ray to leave. I wanted him to stay for a bit longer while I got ready for breakfast. Everyone had already left before I woke up. It seemed I woke up late. Again.

"Ray? Are you coming?" A girl with bright orange hair peeking her head through the doorway.

This was Emma. She was Rays "Main best friend". Ray spent 98% of his time with her, and the remaining 2% was for me. I was always jealous of her, but I learned to put up with it.

"Oh no did I interrupt something super sorry guys! I'll just-" Emma said with an apologetic look on her face after she saw me standing next to Ray.

"No it's fine I'll go, I know Norman is waiting too. Bye Y/n make sure you get dressed and come eat with us." Ray said with a straight look in his face put one hand in his pocket and holding a book in the other.

"Dont leave me! Please I'm lonely without you!" . I thought to myself. I know I could never muster the courage to talk back to Emma. She was so vibrant. I couldn't bring myself too. And I knew I never could.

"It's really fine Emma! Bye you two". I say to Emma with a soft smile of my face that I forced to put on.

I waved both of them goodbye. I watched them walk out the door. Well I couldn't just stand there, so I got dressed and brushed my hair. I dusted my clean white shirt and skirt before walking out the door to breakfast.
