The Shadows Within Us

Chapter 1: The Signs and Symbols

               It's faint and dark in here, but I highly doubt that you can't here me. I don't have much time. I 

sense that they will find me soon and if you are reading this you must hurry and get out I can sense 

that they are watching you and you musn't let them see you this document is too important, you 

must hide in secret and make sure that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands but I feel that you are the 

one. But back to important matters. Firstly, go to the attic and go to the left side of the room. You can 

find an old and historic trunk there. Then, find a flashlight and shine it through the keyhole. Can you 

see anything...... If you should be able to see this correct sequence: 5, 6, Q, W, and 2. Once you've 

acquired this information you must hurry and get out because I can sense that they might be 

watchingyou right now so you must get out of the house now and leave undetected. I don't know if I 

have a lot of time left but I cannot fully explain myself here. I am to exposed in the daylight. I'm afraid 

my time's almost up. I can sense that they're getting closer I should retreat back to my ol house. But 

if you must know my name is Jacob V. Clause I was an odd, mysterious, and mischevious but I am 

also a smart an bright boy. I always studied hard so that I could pass every exam. I was always 

called the "silent child" because I really don't talk that much to almost everyone. Then there's 

Tanya Clause (she's my sister by the way) she was also like me. Studied hard and always aimed 

on top. You could say that we were both "perfect siblings". That's because we were both twins. But 

the only difference between me and her is that she had lots of friends. I on the other hand was not

very good in making friends. Anyway, it was the first day of summer and we went with our 

grandfather Joshua and our uncle John. We all went and rode in a run-down, old R-V. As we 

reached the campsite we all got our stuff and moved in the old house where we were supposed to 

stay until the end of summer. But then on that night, everything changed our lives together. It was maybe about 10 to 11 pm, and the lights were out. Suddenly I heard a strange voice which 

appeared to be coming out of the house. I took a peep at the window. Then I saw a vaguely odd 

shadow, I quickly took a flashlight and snuck downstairs. As I got closer and closer at the door I

kept hearing voices like "Don't open" or "Are you mad he's going to kill you". But I had a feeling in my 

gut that it's safe and I shoudn't be scared. As I reached for the doorknob I had second thinking. 

Maybe I shoudn't open the door then again it might have been something important. So I quickly 

opened the door but when I opened it I couldn't find or see the vaguely odd shadow anymore. It 

disappeared like the wind not leaving a trace, so I closed the door. But all of the sudden I heard a 

scream. It wasmore like a mannish scream yelling for help, then i thought grandpa?. But it couldn't
