The sun shone bright
On a dark, wet day
Though the clouds
Gathered round
It pushed them awayIt was bothered not
By beholders of rain
With their flashes of lightning
Aimed to bring painThe sun shone bright
With its warmth
With its smile
And everything it touched
Was content for a whileEach time it returned
That happiness grew
Because, of course
That sun
Is youThis is dedicated to everyone in lockdown and feeling isolated, including those in winter in the Southern Hemisphere or in a winter in their spirit or soul.
Never underestimate the power of a smile or kind word of encouragement. When you are with people online or in your family, household or community—you can be the sun to someone and warm their day.
My brother Sin's tale is almost at ONE MILLION reads. As he was often the sun to my rain, as I was to others, I thought I should come and say something to you who have supported him so wonderfully. I'm not one for writing poetry too much. It tends to bring out the melancholic in me. I know of one person in particular, Helen, who was caught in a spiritual rainstorm and it made me realise...
Well, once upon a time, a coin helped me bring happiness to so many people I was crushed beneath its weight. Sin, the other face of the same coin had a similar experience, as you'll no doubt know by now.
I hope this visit, and my little poem brought a little sun. Don't tell Sin I dropped by, though. He'll only moan that he missed me.
On your darkest day
When all turns to grime
Look at yourself in the mirror
And make that Sin shineErm... Sun. Make the sun shine. Maybe my bro already knows I'm here!
