I never signed up for something as big as this. Honestly it was my father that pushed me in this direction. As I'm looking at myself in the reflection of Lake Erie I'm trying to decide; do I keep pushing on or give up here? Most days being in the special forces is rewarding. Not only do you get to experience the loyalty and respect of you bunk mates and squad members, but all the alcohol and women you can take. Yea life's great. Lately something has felt strange. The deployments have just become, odd. "Sarge".

I hear someone call for me but I ignore it.

"Sarge."

"What private?" I respond.

"Are you ready to move?"

Like I said our deployments have just become off, of recent. We were brought back to the states on what I'd call a lousy ass quest of bullshit. We were told to go into Detroit and look for a "terrorist" that was possibly working on a "bio-chemical" that could change the world. Sounds stupid right?

"Yea, just give me a moment."

Private Parker can be, well super annoying. I guess that's what happens when you're from a small town like Ada, Ohio. I grab my bag and weapon and move over to my team. You wanna see a bunch of strong, brave, and killer men upset. Look at my squad.

"Where to?" Private Jeffery ask.

I immediately look at Parker because I know where he wants to go.

"We'll move south into Ada and see how the town has survived."

"And if they haven't?"

"Then we'll move on."

"They have." Parker chimes in.

"How are you so sure, dipshit?" Jeffery replies.

"I just know."

"Ok, we'll move into Ada then keep going south until we reach D.C."

I look at everyone's faces to make sure we're all on the same page. Even if we weren't this was the plan.

"Roger that!" My squad yells in sync. Little did we know this was the worst detour we could have taken.
