Chapter 2:
Settling deeper into my chair i whispered to myself “here we go.”
“In my dreams, there’s this girl. Her looks change almost every time i see her. Some times she has fiery red hair with piercing green eyes. Sometimes its long and brown, reminding me of everything warm and happy. Other times its golden hair or sometimes black as a ravens wing. Hell, its even been pink. But one thing is always the same when i see her. The feeling. It feels as if everything in my stomach has turned upside down while butterflies fly around trying to dodge everything that is being thrown around down there in my abdomen. And I’m not complaining. It’s the most alive I’ve felt in a while.”
I get up and walk to the window. I wave to my neighbor.
“Mrs.Henswick is such a sweetheart. She takes that little dog out every morning for her walk. I do wonder though, how her hip doesn’t break.”
I hear your laughter.I hear your laughter.I hear you. It’s insane how something could sound so melodic. I think that’s how the girl in my dream will sound. Rather than linger on that subject i think I’ll tell my new friend more about my dreams.
“Your laugh is beautiful” I blurt out. Great. Smooth move, me. That’s not what i meant to say at all. Curse you, mouth.
“Let me tell you more about my dreams. The only reason i am dreading going to bed is that they’re becoming almost..scary, in a word. I feel like i cannot talk. That my mouth will never form the words I’d like to say to her. To express how beautiful she looks.”
I grab my coat from the hanger. “its getting a little chilly in here. Would you mind turning on the heater just a tad? I’m sure it would benefit the both of us. Besides, it’s getting late. You could use a little sleep, i can tell from the way your grip is loosening on my covers.”
I smile a bit, you’re starting to close me. But i know you’ll be back soon. After all, what type of friend would leave after one day? I pretty sure you wouldn’t. I’ve formed my opinion on you, You’re a good friend. The type who listens. I’ll tell you that tomorrow. I think you’ll be happy to hear that.
“Goodnight, new friend” I say to you. I close, and i think about this first day with you. I hope you stay around. you’re nice enough.
