It's the last year of Hogwarts after the war and everything has returned back to the way it was once before apart from the fact that Draco hasn't returned to Hogwarts for his final year, ashamed of how he left with his mother. A coward. The golden trio is together again but Ginny is there too so I guess it's not a trio anymore.
Hermione's POV:
Walking the corridors was insanely awkward at first. Everyone was grieving the losses of the war. People were lost that didn't deserve to die and Ron hasn't been the same after losing his brother. He takes his anger out on me and I don't know what to do anymore. I can't leave him. He'd be heartbroken and I couldn't do that to him. Not after what happened to Fred. Although I do still love him with every piece of my heart he just isn't the same and I don't know if he ever will be.I've gotten especially close to Ginny, she's been there for me through everything. To be honest she has disowned Ron for what he has done to me. Well not completely disowned him as he still is her brother, she just doesn't get on with him as well as she used to. I blame myself everyday for it even though it isn't my fault but she still takes my side when it comes to the choice between me or him. He doesn't hurt me physically, just mentally. But it still feels as if he's destroying me. Although, more recently he does mostly have good days but there are still times he is unrecognisable with his anger.
It's been a month since school started and I was sitting in the great hall doing my charms homework as the whole school had the day off. It was very last minute something about the teachers discussing something that apparently takes all day. looking over at the empty Slytherin table. All the Slytherin's seem to be lost without Draco he was like their leader. Although they are Slytherins so I don't even think they have thought much of it. All I know is that Blaize has been lost without Malfoy this past month. Well according to Ginny anyway, although I see him roaming the halls with the other Slytherin's. I was day dreaming when Ginny popped out of Harry's invisibility cloak trying to scare me. "Holy Merlin Ginny! You gave me a terrible fright!" screaming with my hand held tight to my chest.
"Sorry Hermione, thought it would be funny. Harry let me borrow the cloak as I thought it would lift your spirit a bit" Ginny said laughing the entire time. "Well any gossip?" I asked still trying to calm myself. Ginny always has something to talk about. She just seems to always know what's going on around Hogwarts.
"You haven't heard? Come on Hermoine I know you live under a rock but you have to of heard!" Ginny stared at me like she didn't know me. "Hear what?" I questioned with worry. Ginny started laughing harder than she probably should have. "GINNY WHAT HAVEN'T I HEARD?" I screamed surprised the whole school didn't hear me.
"Guess. This is amazing like I actually cannot believe you haven't heard" Ginny almost fell over she was laughing so hard. "Look I really don't know Ginny you have to tell me!" Harry interrupts me mid sentence. "Hi Hermione, how are you dealing with the news? I still can't believe it, I honestly thought it would never happen."
As I'm about to lose my mind Ron walks in with his face more red than his hair. "I can't believe it! I thought we were done! I really thought that we didn't have to deal with it ever again! Oh hi love" he winks over at me. "Where have you been?" I asked Ron. "I fell asleep while doing my potions homework. I can't believe how hard it's gotten since Snape's died. Who would have thought it could have got any harder. It's not fair." Ron shakes his face in his palms and I go over to him trying to make sure he's okay.
"Are you sure you're okay Ron?" Harry asks with a look of sorrow in his eyes. Everyone has just forgotten to tell me what has happened as they are so fixated on Ron. I couldn't tell whether he was upset over his homework or the string of gossip that everyone seems to know but me. I figured it was a bad time to ask again as I needed to know Ron was okay first.
"Yea it'll be okay I'm only being dramatic that's all" Ron shrugs with a fake smile on his face. At this point I'm really struggling I thought he was going to say what the gossip was about but he didn't make it any clearer whether it was stress or the other thing.
I look over at Ginny and she is staring at me as if she is going to burst. I know she wants to tell me what it is. She's awful like that. Hates keeping a good bit of gossip away from me. I don't know what it is with her, she just seems to feel the need to tell me everything that anyone tells her although shockingly she can keep any secret I tell her to herself. She even finds the need to tell me everything that goes on with her and Harry in the bedroom. Every. Single. Detail. *shivers*.
Ginny's POV:
I look over at Hermione dying to tell her the biggest shock known to man kind and she laughs at me as I stare at her the anxiety dripping out of me like sweat... shit wait it is "ewwwww" I say out loud still looking at Hermione. "Excuse me?!" She hissed. She looks so pissed off at me and I realised what I did and realise Harry and Ron are staring at me too."Oh my Merlin I'm so sorry Hermione I was thinking out loud for a second and it definitely wasn't about you, I promise" I feel my face going red with embarrassment. Hermione chuckles, "it's okay Ginny I believe you although I thought there was something disgusting on my face" "yea Ron's lips" I mutter to myself as he kisses her cheeks. Harry must have heard me as he laughs at what I just said while everyone else was sitting confused.
Still dying to tell hermione the news she says she needs to go to the bathroom and leaves while I stay with Ron and Harry. I can't stand Ron the way that I used to. Some would say that it's just because we are siblings and it's normal but I disagree. This is a different type of hatred. I refuse to stand for the horrid things he says to Hermione. He doesn't deserve her.
"Well did you scare her" Harry said trying to escape the tension. I broke out in a fit of laughter explaining how I scared Hermione. "Oh my God Harry it was so funny I scared her so hard she fell off her seat!" Just as I say that I fell off of mine because I was laughing that hard. Karma's a bitch. "Okay fine she didn't fall off of her seat but I still scared her." Harry laughed as he pulled me up off the ground. "Don't worry I knew you couldn't have scared her that bad. She's not easy to scare." Oh Merlin how I wanted him right then and there.
"You two disgust me." Ron says breaking the tension. "Just because you can't laugh Ron" Harry says without even a grin on his face I could tell he knew what I wanted but was cross because Ron ruined the mood. "Later" I whispered into Harry's ear. I could tell he wasn't cross at Ron anymore.
Hermione's POV:
I needed to know what everyone was talking about. I could tell everyone in the school was talking about it. Even Luna Lovegood seemed to have a shocked look on her face and she's usually as calm as an angel. Well technically she is kind of like one with her calm voice. She's just so sweet.I made my way back to the great hall and sat in front of Ginny. "Okay I'm going to die if someone doesn't tell me what happened okay so Ron no offence but wipe the frown off your face and stop feeling bad for yourself. Ginny please I need to know." I almost started screaming I was getting too impatient.
Ginny was about to speak and that's when everyone's head turned to the great hall's entrance. My face locked into a state of shock and ginny whispers "I don't think I need to tell you what it is anymore"
