Officer Lanai’s Journal Entry #1
Blood mixed with the scent of the dumpster not ten feet away from where I stood. I reached into my jacket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes, another girl murdered in broad daylight. Three murders like this in the past month, same patterns too. The murderer always happens during the day, and the victim is a girl with two different eye colors. I want to get this guy bad; the killer has been dubbed the Iris Killer. As always the girl was stabbed with two different blades, one is always shorter than the other; no telling which one is the killing blow. No other wounds are ever found on these girls, it’s almost as if there girls have never been touched apart from the stab wounds. The murder was called in by a waste engineer, or as we called them when I was a kid trash man; I don’t suspect the trash man in all honesty he doesn’t seem smart enough to lure these girls into the alleyways. At this point I don’t have any leads, for all I know it could be the pope, my dog, or my next door neighbor. I hate this case; it consumes my mind at night I can’t figure this guy out. For now the only clues we have are that he only targets girls with two different eye colors and that he obviously must look trustworthy to lure them into alleys. This case is going to be the death of me I swear.
