Then Sparks Flew

Chapter 5: ELLA!!

      "ELLA!" Pixie screamed, watching her little sister tumbling towards the earth. "No!"

       Ari and Ony watched in horror as Pixie dived toward her sister.
 
       "Ella," they cried, unaware that the monster was still attacking.

        A long rippling whip cracked against Ony's back, causing blood to seep from the cut.
 
      "Mortal vortex," she cried, flinging a spell at it. She failed, the monster sending another blast, cutting through her shoulder, sending her falling through the sky.

       "Techno orb," Ari yelled, catching a barely conscious Ony before an unexpected blast hit her between her wings.

        Her spell wore off, her and Ony to fall after Pixie and Ella.

        Pixie heard their grunts and looked up, noticing the two freshmen falling- detransformed. "Flame catcher," she waved her arm, catching the two girls as they drifted toward them. They landed with a soft thud next to an unconscious Ella. "You'll be okay," she said softly. "I promise."

        She was just about to use a healing spell to help with the girls' blood-loss, when she saw Ella open her cyan blue eyes, a surprise to Pixie, and waved her hand forward, making a shield protecting them all from another attack. She held the icy dome for a long time, ignoring Pixie's pleads to put it down and let her make a shield.

       Ari and Ony still lay, barely able to move.

      "Pixie," Ella pleaded, forcing herself to sit. "Go get help, none of us have the strength to fly. Go now!"

        Despite wanting to be there to protect her little sister, Pixie agreed, and Ella let the shield down for a quick second for her to leave.

         "I'll be back," she said, tears spilling down her already stained cheeks. "And you'll be fine."

        She turned and flew away, desperate to get someone to help them.

WINX

        "Ugh," Stella groaned. "Why did she have to do this. She never acted like this before."

         "If by 'before, you mean twenty years ago," Tecna stated. "Then you have no idea what she'd do. People can change a lot in that time frame."

          Bloom stirred on the bed in the infirmary. "Daphne," she called. "Help me, please."

            "She can still hear Daphne," Flora questioned aloud, to no one in particular. It was just them in the room- all their children were still in the headmistress's office, despite Zu and Ty's protests. "Even after we freed her from her curse?"

           "I guess their connection never broke," Aisha said, her arms crossed. Musa was standing next to her, her back leaning on the door.

            Suddenly the door busted open, sending Musa flying to the ground. Pixie flies in, and the first thing the winx noticed was the blood on her light purple gloves.

         "What happened," Musa demanded, Aisha helping her off the floor.

          "It's Ella," she breathed roughly. "And her friends, Ariana and Harmony. We were attacked. They're very weak... The only thing keeping them alive is Ella..... And she's losing a lot of blood..... They need you."

          "Oh no!" Tecna cried. "We have to save them!"

         "Let's transform," Stella says.  "Magic Winx, Crystalix!" They all yell, as a bright light consumed them.
