Hey there. Thanks for opening this story and giving it a try. Hope you like it. :)

I looked at the clock.

Thirty minutes. Thirty freaking minutes, and he’s still not here.

It’s the first day of school and I’m probably going to be late. It’s already 7.45am, class starts at 8am, and it takes at least a 20minute drive from my house to school.

Oh yes, I’m definitely gonna be late. And I’m so gonna kill that boy when he gets here.

After what seemed like forever, I heard a car arrive outside. I quickly got out of the house, and there I saw my best friend, Drew Jacobs. He looked as gorgeous as ever with his short chocolate brown hair, and I wondered how he could always look so perfect like that. He was kind of tall, and he had hazel brown eyes. In short, he was really cute.

I quickly got my things and got into his car. Now it was time to kill him.

“Drew I swear, I wanna freaking kill you right now! It’s our first day of school today and we’re gonna be late, all because of you!”

He laughed and shrugged it off, “Lia, would you chill? In case you forgot, school always starts an hour later on the first day. Didn’t you read the text I sent you?”

Oh yeah. Dang, I was way too excited.

“Crap, I can’t believe I forgot. I just totally freaked out for nothing.”

He just laughed at me. “You’ve always been the paranoid one.”

I rolled my eyes, “Oh shut up Drew.”

“What happened to your phone anyway?”

“I left it at Carrie’s house during our sleepover. Which reminds me, could you text her to bring it for me today?”

One mention of Carrie’s name and he’s all excited. “Carrie? Oh sure, totally.”

I rolled my eyes, again. “You’re so obsessed with her, it’s starting to get annoying, you know?” I joked.

“Aww, is wittle Lia jeawous?” He teased me, with that baby voice.

“I’m not jealous!”

He laughed, then his face suddenly got serious, “Just because I like her doesn’t mean I love you any less Lia. You are my best friend after all.”

Yeah Andrew, I’m your best friend. That’s all I’ll ever be.

I faked smile. “Yeah, I know that Drew. Anyway let’s stop with this mushy stuff, shall we drive off to school?”

He smiled back. Ugh, I just loved that smile. It made all my insides go crazy.

“Yes, we shall.”

We arrived in school pretty early, so Drew decided that we go to Delly’s, a nearby café to get some coffee. We walked since it was only a 5 minute walk from our school.

I never really liked coffee, so I ordered a sandwich instead, since I didn’t really eat much this morning anyway. I had breakfast alone since my parents were on vacation in Hawaii, together with Drew’s parents. Yeah, our families were really close. They’ve pretty much been like this ever since Drew and I were born.

Our parents always used to tease us that we’d ending up marrying each other one day. Every time they said that I remember pushing Drew so hard until he fell, I said I’d never like him because he was my best friend and that was gross.
