i threw my bag over my shoulder and walked down the stairs. glancing at my father, passed out on the coach. i grabbed the keys off the counter and made sure there were the car keys and house keys on the chain before opening the front door and walking to the car, jumping in and leave. i couldn't keep working over hours, to get a pay check that would just cover the bills at the end of the month. i couldn't keep babysitting my father while i was at work, at school and out with my friends. i couldn't keep cleaning up after him. i couldn't keep telling him to stop drinking and get his life together before i left. every time i told him that, he would yell at me saying that i could never leave, i didn't have a guts, that my mother would be proud. she would never be proud of the person my father has become. he had become a scum bag, a piece of shit, and one of the things he told my mother he would never become while she was on her death bed, a shitty father. it felt like i was the parent and he was the teenager that had a drinking problem and a drug addiction. i was so sick of it so i got up and left. thank god my parents didn't have another kid, having another human being to be a mom too and feed would have made us homeless. i drove all night before stopping at a Walmart parking lot to sleep the day away. that is what is did for the next four days, driving all night. hitting dead end roads, turning on to highways. going across the country before finally stopping in pittsburgh, i didn't know where i was going but i ended up in a small town. i drove around staying in town before pulling into a alley way and going inside. when i walked in i saw it was a blowing alley. i looked around looking for staff when i walked towards my left i noticed the bathrooms tucker into the corner and i hear someone mumbling some lyrics to a song that was play "uh hello, i was wondering if-" i said walking up to the counter. i saw a lady passed out in the corner of where i amusing someone working here should be stand. i looked around spotting a boy my age cleaning a table. i walk over to him and tap him on the shoulder "uh hi i was wondering if you you had a pair of scissors i could use?" he looked at me with a smile.
