Lord Amane's eyes narrowed in pleasure as he accepted the bundle of donuts, tucking it carefully away. Just then, Lord Tsukasa burst through the front door, bounding over to his brother with a playful grin and wrapping him in a dramatic side hug.
"Amane~! My dear Amane~!" Tsukasa crooned, flashing a mischievous, cat-like smile. "Sorry to keep you waiting! Are you mad? Are you mad at me~?"
Amane looked mildly uncomfortable but replied patiently, "No, I'm not mad."
"Really?? Amane~?"
"Yes, really."
"Really? Really? Really?"
Amane sighed, a faint smile on his lips. "Tsukasa, yes. Really. It's fine; I'm not mad."
Watching their interaction, (Y/N) couldn't help but sweatdrop at the sibling dynamic. Then, to her surprise, Tsukasa turned his gaze to her, back to Amane, and then back to her again, a curious look on his face.
"Hmm? Is everything all right here?" Tsukasa asked, a hint of worry in his voice. "I'm not, uh...interrupting anything, am I?"
Amane shook his head with a calm smile, discreetly slipping the little package into the wide sleeve of his robe. "Not at all, Tsukasa. You're not disturbing us."
(Y/N) stifled a laugh. 'Did he just hide the donuts?!'
As the brothers walked off together, (Y/N) found herself hoping she'd see Amane again tomorrow.
But when the next morning came...there was no sign of him. Hours passed without a familiar footfall at the door.
'Lord Amane isn't here...and neither is Lord Tsukasa. I wonder if they'll come by today at all.'
Of course, Amane hadn't promised he'd visit every day, but after seeing him regularly, his absence felt strange.
"Isn't Lord Tsukasa going to come back anymore, Sis?" (B/N) asked, his small voice filled with disappointment. "We were getting along so well..."
(Y/N) gave his head a gentle ruffle. "I'm sure they'll be back soon," she reassured, though a bit of uncertainty lingered in her heart as well.
Just then, a voice came from the restaurant entrance. "Excuse me. Is there someone here by the name of (Y/N)?"
Surprised, (Y/N) stepped over to the door to greet the visitor, finding herself face-to-face with a young woman. She had waist-length hair in a soft cream color that gradually faded into a gentle teal at the tips, and her big magenta eyes sparkled as she smiled.
"Yes, I'm (Y/N)," she replied curiously.
The woman bowed politely. "Ah, I see. Sorry to trouble you so early. I am a servant of the Yugi clan. My name is Yashiro Nene." She held out a small envelope, a sweet smile lighting up her face. "Lord Amane has asked me to deliver this letter to you personally."
"Lord Amane...?" (Y/N) echoed, her curiosity deepening.
Nene nodded, holding the envelope carefully. "He insisted it be delivered directly to you."
"Thank you for bringing it, Miss Nene. I appreciate it."
Nene bowed again, smiling warmly. "Not at all. I'll take my leave now."
(Y/N) watched as Nene departed swiftly, the envelope feeling unexpectedly heavy in her hands.
