~Jade's POV~

Today was just another day of highschool. Too much homework, boring teachers, and crappy cafeteria food. The only thing that made the day alright was getting to go to my best friend, Cameron's, house at the end of the day. Usually we did homework right when we got to his house and then, watched movies.

Right as the bell rang, I gathered all my books together and shoved it in my backpack. As I walked out of the class to go to my locker, Cam jumped in front of me while tickling me and yelled "BOO! I GOT YOU!" I jumped up and start laughing. He knew how ticklish I was and still did it in school.

"Wow, Cam, you're the best friend, a girl could ever have," I said sarcastically while still laughing.

"I know, I'm a girl charmer. You don't have to tell me twice," smirked Cameron.

Right after that, he acted like a gentleman, opening my locker for me, holding my backpack for me all the way to his car. Then, he opened the passenger door for me as I slipped into the car. Cam sat at the driver seat and soon enough, we were driving with the wind. He lived across the street from me as long as I could remember, so of course, I knew the way. Then, he started talking.

"Since I just finished finals, I don't have any homework tonight. What about you Jade?" he asked.

"Ugh, I have to write an essay by next week. But, that's about it," I replied.

"Well then tonight, you are going to stay at my house all night and we are going to eat and watch movies upon movies. My parents won't mine, and I doubt yours will either. Is that a deal?"

I smiled, "That sounds like a perfect night."

We walked into his house to see his mom working on her laptop at the desk next to the kitchen.

"Hi honey. Hi Jade," his mother said as we walked in from the door that attached the garage to the kitchen.

"Hey mom," Cam replied.

"Hi Second Mom," I said and laughed. It was a joke that she was my second mom because she basically was. My parents were always busy at work and didn't come home until midnight and me being an only child, I was usually lonely. Ever since Cameron and I were in kindergarten, we would ride the bus together to his house until last year, when he would drive us to high school with his own car.

We walked into the family den where he was searching Netflix for a movie to watch and I sat on the couch on my phone. At the end, we decided to watch a Disney classic and go with High School Musical. We have both watched the movie a thousand times and could sing every song.

As we sing each and every song, I notice we sit closer together. Towards the end of the movie, I lean on his shoulder and he strokes my hair. Once the movie ends, we get up awkwardly, noticing how closely we sat next to each other.

I gaze into his beautiful eyes and daydream thoughts about him. Wait, was I starting to have feelings for him?
