The room was dark.
Well of course, it had to be dark - bringing the atmosphere of remaining undercover. But the dark brought the cold Polish winters. There wasn't a fire roaring in the fireplace that stood on one wall. They couldn't risk a fire. Not when they were so close to achieving their goal.
"I suggest we call this meeting to order, or we'll all freeze to death. It seems we'll have to begin without him." A woman said. Her golden blonde curls ran down her back. On her hip hung a long knife, held up by a belt across her medieval red dress. She was Mary, Queen of Scotts.
None argued, so she continued, "You all know why we are here?""We know bloody well why," one of them said. His teeth had grown yellow and his long black coat hung down to his legs, "Just get on with it!"
"Is that any way to talk to a queen?" she threatened back, "I am the only lady here, so I would appreciate it if you treated me like one."
"Of course," he bowed his head mockingly, "Your majesty."
She decided to ignore him For now.
"Has Adolf even contacted you?" Another voice said. He wore a suit, but the tie frayed at the ends, and the coat had many stains from oils and singes. The man had been in war for a long time before this, and he was just about to start another one.
"Not yet, Hussein." the tall woman told him. She glanced at her watch, which was from the 21st century. Apparently it was the new fad in America to have the time on your wrist. She didn't even need a sundial anymore. There were benefits to being a time traveler, "But he will. I'm sure of it."
"What are we doing here?" a fourth voice said. This man was recognized as serial murderer, Jeffery Dahmer. His light hair bounced off any bright surface, so he wore a black hat to hide it from seeing eyes. Anyone could be watching.
"I've gained maps." she said, spreading out a long and thick piece of paper across the table. Some gasped and all leaned close. These were the only maps of the Time Travelers HQ in Nepal. Here, they see all the secret passageways to get in and could easily plant bombs without being seen.
"Not bad, Missie." said John Wilkes Booth, sending her a flirty smile. She rolled her eyes when he looked away.
"This way." She pointed to a doorway on the map, "This is a secret entrance closest to the eastern main entrance."
"You mean we'll be entering near the aircraft deck?" Jack the Ripper said, yellow teeth showing through his smirk, "Won't we be seen easily?"
"Some of you will be entering there..." she continued, "Others of you will be entering here." She pointed again to a spot closer to the northern entrance, from the top of the snowy mountain.
"No one will expect us coming from the top. And once we have taken the Headquarters, all that's left are the remainders. We may be able to kill most of them, enslave the rest, and then...maybe I'll be resting on a pile of jewels. Maybe people can burn in the streets once again. I do miss the screams of agony. The burning torches did warm up the winter nights."
"You dream big." A voice said at the doorway as someone bolted in, "Maybe you British hope too much."
The queen raised her nose in defense, letting her arms cross over one another, "Maybe you Germans dream too little. Besides, this will work."
His glasses had been thrown away to reveal brooding brown eyes. He didn't actually need them, they were just a disguise. His mustache was fake, easily torn away because it sticked on his skin with tape, another upside to being a time traveler who could go to the 21st century. No one really believed him when he told them the stash was fake. After all, he invented it.
He was Adolf Hitler.
"Took you long enough." Booth said, "You were a couple miles away..."
Hitler interrupted him, "I had some...pressing business to take care of." He slipped his handkerchief back into his pocket, Mary noticing a few spots of red on them. She swallowed hard. Maybe he had more blood on his hands than she did, "When do we start?"
"As soon as you agree to your part. What about Eva?" Mary said, thinking of the pretty German woman who had become his lover in the past month. But suddenly, she put the pieces together. The blood on the handkerchief. Eva came to every meeting. Except this one.
"She was too much work. Luckily, she has a twin sister. Questions won't be raised." He waved his hand in the air like it was another Jew or gypsy he had gotten rid of, not his future wife.
"They better not be," she warned, "Not when we are this close."
"They won't." he reassured, "Now...what's my part?"
