It was the end of May, school was out for Summer. For us it was something sad, special, and yet exciting. We all would be going our separate ways, to high school. We signed our year books, had parties all day, just chilled, and hung out for the very last time together.

I was excited at first, we laughed, had fun, for the one day there seemed to be no rules. But then as the school day came to an end, we realized this was for real, we wouldn't be the invincible group anymore. Me and Maia got accepted into the school for the gifted, Arielle and Amelia were going to the school everyone knows for its trouble. My fangirl bestie Kim, somewhere else, and Emmeline was going back to her home state for high school. Things seemed gloomy then, that we wouldn't be able to spend every second together. Emmeline was only spending a few weeks here, Kim was going to see relatives soon, Amelia was mostly free, Arielle had full time parents, Maia was going on vacation, and I was going to summer school.

We hugged each other, hugged as a group, then hugged some more. Last minutes were approaching, things got bad, tears welded up in our eyes. We looked at each other with glassy eyes, gave a weak, faint smile, and then they came.. one by one, groups, bunches, rain, and then waterfalls. We held one another, wiped away each others tears, blew our noses, but they still came.

Then we laughed, tears filling our mouths, as they fell down our cheeks. We look at one another and laugh. Laugh at how Kim's mascara got ruined, laugh at how Arielle's lip gloss got washed away, laugh at how the always laughing Amelia had been the first to cry out, laugh at the sobs that had escaped Maia, and laughed at how the emotionless me had cried.

We held onto each other, hand in hand. Til we were forced to separate, and load the buses. We waved goodbye, and ran til we couldn't no more. Waved til they disappeared behind the bus.

That's the last I have seen of my dear friends in person. We text whenever we can, but we're always so busy. Now we wait to see what happens with our new lives away from each other.
