LIFETIME

note: this story is based off the manga, but i'll be adding a little twist to it ;)

Akane loved Aoi since the very start.

Ever since the day they met, the boy fawned over his childhood bestfriend, even if she ignored him.

But he wasn't the only one amazed by Aoi's beauty; other boys from their school started confessing to her, give her gifts, even when Akane was around.

He didn't like this.

But, Aoi kept rejecting them for a reason, and what Akane believed was that she was "saving her love for him," or that's what he thought.

High school came around, and Aoi was becoming more and more popular in the days. Of course, that meant more people confessing, more people trying to befriend her, more everything.

But for some reason, Aoi still kept on rejecting the confessions and even the people who wanted to be her friend.

Apparently she stuck with a girl named Yashiro Nene.

The said girl wasn't that all popular like Aoi. Sure, she had a squishy, cute face, long, long white hair that went teal at the ends, a cute voice and a sweet, respectful attitude. (lmao idk)

But these days, people base on looks more than personalities, so she was noticed by her flat ankles and how she looked like a "daikon", or a radish by her hair.

Akane felt slightly bad for the girl, seeing as she was the only one who stuck with Aoi when he wasn't around, and he trusted Aoi with Nene.

But what he was most intrigued about the girl was that he could sense something familiar when he was around her, like a supernatural feeling or such.

But that didn't change the fact that he still loved Aoi, and so he tried hard to be a better student; he ran for student council and ended up being Vice President, he studied really hard and late that he resulted in sleeping at 2 in the morning(but still ending up in second), and many more.

All for her.

You see, this risk he took was extremely dangerous, and it happened when they were still new to their high school.

(Manga spoilers here, don't come at me)

It happened when they were 12.

It was their first day at high school, and they were walking together to their destination.

Akane had yet failed another confession, but what she said after that made him stop.

"See if you can make my heart flutter. If you can, I'll think about it!"

"Hey Akane-kun! You coming?" She called out to him, not realizing he stopped midway.

"Ah, y-yes Aoi-chan!" He replied. Aoi smiled and stopped to wait for him.

But that was a terrible mistake.

She was standing next to a truck (they stopped beside the road), strapped to it was a huge mirror. But its ropes snapped out of nowhere, and the mirror was soon falling on Aoi.

Akane stopped, trying to process what was happening, before he realized and ran to her faster than ever.

He was screaming in his head.
