"Winter.." Wes started as i headed towards him, a bit puzzled. "fancy sitting down with me?"
i shook my head. "its my work hour. i can get something for you.. whats in your mind?"
"how about i order a couple of dessert and you sit down, help me finish it? i cant afford to have too many sugar, it wont be good for football." he patted his flat stomach, which im sure had pretty decent abs underneath his shirt.
"then order just one. save you more money." i challenged him.
"then that wouldnt be too much fun, isnt it?" he ruffled his blonde messy hair, "come on. im sure that blonde girl wont mind." hahaha. blonde girl. he doesnt even remember her name. "besides, im a paying customer. customer comes first, and i demand you accompany me."
i bit my lips, wondering if i should do so or not. besides, i barely know this beautiful boy.
"please? give me a chance here. im sure it will worth it. if not.. you can just walk away, and never talk to me again." he pleaded, narrowing his eyebrows.
i thought: what will i lose, anyway? plus, i get to break free from my stupid job for a minute, and irritate Bianca over the fact that a boy might find me more interesting than her.
so i sat down. "talk."
he bit his lips. "harsh. i already ordered some gelato earlier. lets talk while its being prepared."
i smirked. "you're giving Bianca a hard time, you know?"
he raised an eyebrow,"and why is that?"
"shes the most popular in school. she is not used to being ignored by hot boy." fuck. did i just say hot?
'hot?" a grinned appeared on his face, "you think im hot?"
thankfully, Bianca came and served a few desserts in front of us. this would be the only time i am thankful of Bianca's presence. "anything else, handsome?" she bit her lips alluringly as she ignored me, focusing on Wes only.
he didnt even took his eyes off me,"no, thank you. we'll call you when we're want something."
she gave Wes another smile, then on her way to the counter, she glared at me furiously. really really creepy.
"after you, beautiful?" he said as he gestured towards the mountain of food on the table.
"actually, im more interested in talking than eating." i murmured. "now talk."
"cold as winter." he tease as he dug into the pickle gelato in front of him (i know right? pickle.) "im going to be really honest here, so i just hope you'll listen carefully."
"sure?" i said, ready to absorb everything he was going to say.
"you see..."he said , looking down, suddenly dont seem so proud and confident anymore, "i never found a girk like you. i mean, come on. Wesley Julian. everyone knows who i am at school." oops, forget what i said. here it goes again."then i met you... a girl who didnt even make a move or signs that she is attracted to my.. physical appearance. you dont know, thats like a million to one chance. but then i met you..."
wow. where is this going to lead, i wonder.
"and you're so beautiful.. smart.. interesting to talk to. and i rarely have a girl-friend," he pressed the - to reassure me he wasnt flirting, "so.. i just want to find someone to hang out with. someone who wont try to kiss me every now and then."
i smirked, this guy is actually kind of sweet. "you're such a proud beaver. you're not that hot." i was lying. he was a ten.
"thats what i meant. you dont find me attractive."
"im more into soul than appearance". the fact that Dean's soul is beautiful as it is on the outside just strengthen my case.
he put his spoon down and smiled his heartbreaking dazzler, flashing his perfect ultra white teeth, "and since you still sitting here, i guess you agree to my suggestion? about asking you to be a friend?"
"hey i was just going to leave," i said as i stood up, "but..." he waited for an answer, "i guess we can be school bus buddy. but just that. i dont want girls to look at me like i just snatch their man."
"bus..?" he hesitated, but then he winked, "sure. save me a seat."
