~~(same year) week after Bucky fall~~
Steve and I sit in the now destroyed bar that we were before with Bucky. were drinking alcohol I look around sadly my eyes stop at the area where Bucky dipped and kissed me a week before tears fall down my cheek taking a long sip "it breaks my heart Steve I lost a part of me when James fell" I whispered taking another sip. Peggy walks in with widening eyes at me taking the bottle away from me and then looking at the both of us we wipe away tears from our cheeks sniffing Steve looks at her and sits up straight. "Dr. Erskine said that the serum wouldn't just affect my muscles, it would affect my cells, create a protective system of regeneration and healing, which means um, I can't get drunk, did you know that?" Steve asked Peggy looking between us.
"Your metabolism burns four times faster than the average person" she pulls a chair out and sits next to setting the bottle down, "he thought it could be one of the sides effects" she looks at me and Steve. "it wasn't your guy's fault" she stated I snicker grabbing the bottle and take a sip of my whiskey "did you read the report?" Steve asked "yes" Steve laughs quietly "then you know that's not true" he replied " you did everything you could" Steve looks down at his glass. "did you believe in your friend? did you respect him?" Peggy continued Steve looks at her "I did believe in my husband" I replied biting my lip Steve has 'yes' in his eyes.
"Then stop blaming yourselves, allow Barnes the dignity of his choice, he damn well must have thought you guys were worth it" Peggy stated I take a deep breath letting it out and then straightening up. "I'm going after Schmidt" Steve replied "I'm coming with you" I stated he shacks his head no "what if you get hurt" I snicker "I'm already hurt and I'm going avenge my husband, rather you like it or not I'm coming with Steven" steve sighs and shacks his head. "then you're staying by my side" I nod "I'm not stopping until hydra is dead or captured" Steve stated looking down at his glass once more "you won't be alone" Steve looks at us.
We sit at the table of general quarters "you know Schmidt belongs to a bug house, he thinks he's a god, he's willing to blow up half of the world to prove it" general Philips stated I look at Steve and he focuses on him. "staring with the u.s.a" he continued "sch is working with powers beyond our capability's, get to the across the Atlantic, he will wipe out the entire east sea board in an hour" Howard Stark relied looking at all of us stopping on me winking. I roll my eyes Steve puts down the papers he was holding I start feeling sick again, what is going on with me. I place my hand on my aching stomach take in a deep breath and let it out and the sickness goes away.
"How much time do we got," agent Jones asked "according to my new best friend in 24 hours" he replied, "where is he now?" I asked "Hydra's last base is here" Philip stated pointing at a picture of a mountain. I nod "in the outs 5 hundred feet below the surface" Philip continued "what are we supposed to do, it's not like we can knock down the front door" Jim Morita stated looking at all of us. "why not?" Steve blurted out everyone looks at him including me "that's exactly what we're gonna do" Steve commented. Steve and I get ready, Howard made me a suit to go with Steve's I really don't like it that much I told him my size but my size won't even fit me things are getting really strange.
We get on a motorcycle drive off and into the hydra base getting our guns to the ready. "Steve are you trying to get yourself killed!" I yelled over the engine he says nothing I sigh and then hear another engine other than our bike. I look back and it's a minion or agent of hydra "Steve!" they shoot at us but the blast reflexes from Steve's shield. he looks back I grab the gun that Bucky gave to me and shoot at one of them killing them and knocking them off the bike. Steve presses a button and two other agents fall back off their bikes hitting the ground. out of nowhere fire comes out of the end of the bike tail pipes setting the Nazis on fire.
I smile "that's so cool" I yelled then two more of them comes in front of us Steve grabs something and flew past them blowing them up "give me my shield" Steve stated I grab it and hand it to him he connects it to the front of the bike I look and see that we're heading towards the gates of the bases it has an automatic machine gun pointing at us and its starts shooting at us but we dodge it Steve presses another button and we shoot the base riding on top of the side of it "get ready to jump off the bike!" Steve yelled Steve shoot some agents hitting the ground he presses another button, how buttons are there on this thing.
We stand he grabs my waist and his shield "ready!" I nod and we jump to land on the ground I groan rolling a little Steve and I stand and look at each other Agents and soldiers start charging at us we fight them but they keep on coming to the bike is at the base doors still then it explodes Steve and I continue to fight, thank god Peggy taught me how to fight. Steve grabs a guy and flings him I punch and kick until we're surrounded by the fire making us stop becoming back to back "how is this plan going to work?" I whispered "it'll work" he whispered back.
We get put into hand cuffs and get led to a very high technic room I've never seen before the agents spot us from the middle of the room. "arrogant may not be uniquely American trade but must say, you do it better than anyone" a grotesque man says walks in front of us his skin is blood red and his nose is gone replaced with a skeleton one with very white teeth. "Mrs. Barnes Mm we'll have a great use for you in the near future" i try to get out of the minion's grip but nothing would budge "but there are limits to what even you can do, captain, what did ashcan tell you otherwise," he asked, is this red skull I get why they call him that.
"He told me that you were insane" Steve stated pumping up his chest "ah,... he resented my genus and tried to deny me what was rightfully mine but he gave you everything" Steve and I glare at him. "so, what made you so special," red skull asked Steve snickered "nothin, I'm just a kid from Brooklyn" Steve replied red skull growled and starts to hit Steve. I whimper and try to get out of their grip "NO!" I yelled he turns to me and slaps me hard causing my button lip to split open. I groan Steve falls to his knees red skull looks down at Steve and Steve him out of breath "no Elizabeth it's okay....I can do this all day" Steve replied glaring at him "awe, of course, you can, of course, but unfortunately I'm on a tight schedule".
He stops talking when he hears something from outside "so are we" Steve grabs a minion and pulls him in front of us making a red skull blast him away. Steve does the same that was holding me having the same fate as the other guy our men come crashing through the windows red skull runs away. "captain you might need this" one of our men says handing Steve his shield he grabs my hand and pulls me to my feet and we run after red skull there's guns shooting and explosions around us. we search everywhere for him we catch up to him red skull tries to blast us but we dodge it and he gets away once more. Steve throws his shield stopping the doors from closing we run the other way but are instantly stopped by fire from one of those things that killed my husband Anger fills me and I try to run to it but Steve stops me. "No let me go it killed Bucky" I yelled we hide in a door way "Elizabeth no" I whimper as tears fall down my cheeks. we hear shooting and the thing goes down Steve and I run out I whip away my tears and look it's Peggy I smile.
Steve and her stand close together "your late" Steve panted "weren't you about to ah" she replied "oh yeah" we run to the door that his shield is holding open. I go through first Steve grabs his shield going through and we go as the door closes behind us Steve and I get to the plane area we see a red skull get into one and start it. we run towards it punching hydra agents on the way Steve grabs me jumps up and grabs a chain swinging us across a bunch of hydra agents and land continuing to run until its to late then a fast car comes to us it Peggy and general Philips. "get in!" he yells and we do getting close to the plane Peggy grabs me and hugs me "I love you be careful because of what comes next, you need to be" I frown at her comment, what does she mean by that. Steve and I stand but Peggy stops Steve "keep it study!" Steve yelled, "Steve wait!" Peggy grabs his suit and kisses him hard and passionately. "go get him!" she yells Steve looks at Philip "I'm not kissing you" he stated and I giggle Steve and I get on the hood of the car and jump onto the tire as it lifts us bringing us into the plane.
